Is it possible to see work out results this quickly?

I've been working out a lot more since the new year. I try to run at least 5 times a week, and I also do some other stuff but not as regularly. I wasn't much overweight to start with, but I wanted to tone up and lose a couple inches.

I looked at myself in the mirror today, and I seem to look a bit smaller already. My thighs especially look slimmer and my stomach is flatter. Is it possible to see changes like that in less than 3 weeks? I checked the scale and I've lost about 5 pounds.

Is it possible to be seeing a difference so soon or am I imagining it?
