-Have a warm bath/shower to soften the skin and hair.
-Use a sensitive shaving cream or baby oil and rub it over the area.
-Then take a new razor (make sure it's NOT blunt) and gently slide it over the hair, in the direction of the hair. You'll find that it won't necessarily get the hair from the 'root', so when you bring the razor in the direction against the hair, move up diagonally rather than straight up. This way there will be less friction.
-Pat down the area and rub a fragrance free lotion for sensitive skin. I recommend something silicone based. I use one called "Designer Skin Angel Daily Moisturizer" and it's amazing.
-Wear somewhat loose clothing for a few hours afterwards.
I know this probably seems like a long process, but it becomes habit. I have SUPER sensitive skin and I have to shave because I'm getting IPL, and it's awesome. I rarely get any bumps at all, now :)
