Are glasses just not "in" anymore? Or is it just cuter to see a person's eyes with contacts in?

I have been a glasses wearer since I was about 15. I am also kind of nerdy so I did not care. Never cared about peer pressure or anything like that.

Then contacts came along...it was a kind of big deal, but I did not think much of it... Some kids ran at the chance to take off their glasses, but I did not.

Now it is a little over 10 years later, and contacts seem to be the biggest deal! Such a small percentage of people seem to be wearing glasses.

So what I am wondering, is it seriously about time to stop wearing glasses and move up to contact lenses?

I have VERY light brown eyes, and almost every time I take off my glasses girls tell me how pretty my eyes are.

I have thin frames, and also very stylish expensive designer frames. 3 different pairs.

So is "glasses fashion" pretty much dead now, or dying?

Do you have a preference for the opposite gender?

Contacts are all together superior

Stylish glasses are superior

A combination of contacts and glasses are best

I don't care either way

Glasses can be a cute look, but I rather see a cuter pair of eyes

Can any ladies who have already answered, or anyone else add on by answering this question.

Can anybody tell me of any male modern day "Sex symbol" who wears glasses regularly? When I google search things of the sort, I don't find any with glasses.

If I search for like, sexy man with glasses or hot man with glasses, I get close up face shots of guys.


Basically, I believe that glasses are "in" but it seems like women really do prefer a guy without glasses.

i don't care either way... I had glasses when young then had contacts in hs now I'm in college and have glasses.. it all depends on the person's face and the right frames to accent the face! I love my glasses, they're the perfect shape and color for my face and eyes.. I know tons of guys that say as long as you have the right pair, glasses are gonna look great.. if you have a pretty face with the right frames.. the frames aren't gonna make or break my face.. if your already pretty, glasses aren't gonna ruin your face.. just get the right frame and color and your set! plus I've been told a person looks smarter w/glasses.. always a plus ;)

haha it has nothing to do with place or area of living.. it's the people.. there's tons of various types of people with personalities everywhere.. it's like saying there's only pretty blondes in the south..

Not true at all. Some people actually suit glasses more than contacts and it can look very sexy. Don't worry about it. Wear whatever you're comfortable with. I use both but with contacts you will have worries of it drying out, or them getting itchy, etc. It really doesn't matter.

My only issue with contacts is that for some reason I can NEVER GET THEM IN!

So I associate contacts with frustration.

I want to wear what I feel comfortable with, but I rather wear what a girl will desire me more with.

Lol yeah that was a problem for me at first too. After a bit you kind of get used to it. Ask the sales people to teach you how to put them on, that helped me a lot. You could ask your girl-friends what looks better on you (with/without glasses) or you could take a picture without your glasses and post it here and ask. Plenty of options for you.

I wear glasses but fortunately I can see somewhat without them. I can't stand contact lenses. I'm always too afraid that I'll forget to take them out of that they will mess up my eyes. Sticking something in my eye doesn't sound appealing to me.

I voted E. But overall, I prefer to see someone's eyes. Glasses don't necessarily make you unattractive (depending on their shape) but they can take away from your look, IMO.

@update: well that's kinda the thing. Glasses, IMO, don't make anyone hot. If someone is hot with glasses then it's because they're hot without them as well. Unless someone have a glasses fetish or whatever.

I've seen so many people with glasses on, if they need them or not, famous or not. I would say glasses are definitely in. The stylish ones with designs on them are participating more, I noticed too.

I wear glasses and I hate it. But there are some people who look good with them, if that is your case you should continuing wearing them.

If you play sports, then contacts should be used when needed. But glasses that suit the face are super attractive.

Again, this seems great and all, but I never see the guys that girls chase after wearing glasses.

It makes me feel like, glasses are cute as long as the girl is not actually that interested in me. It looks cute on me...as long as I am not her bf.

My boyfriends have worn glasses...the one I'm with now lost his and we have the same prescription so sometimes I see something far away that he can't make out, I'll put my glasses on him. I want gim to get new glasses because I think he'd look amazing in them.
