Hey, people will say you should do it for the health benefits, and that is true, but I really don't know many of us that get motivated by having better health, unless we just had a heart attack or some other serious health scare and, even then, I have seen people go back to their bad eating habits.
So, yes, I think desiring a certain lifestyle you see other people enjoying is a great motivator. I know that a great motivator for me to work and go to college at night for 8 years (it was really hard some times) was seeing that there were people that had great careers and enjoyed the traveling and lifestyle I wanted, and it started by them having a college degree. Made it easier to get my butt back into school and study when other people were relaxing at home.

You're asking if it's a good motivation, that's something only you can really decide, if it's working for you, then why not?
Be proud that you actually have done something many people can't do :)
It doesn't matter where your motivation comes from. Whether it's out of vanity or out of health consciousness, it's always good. Because by losing weight and becoming healthy, you are increasing the quality of life for not only yourself, but for everyone who has to deal with you, and you are raising the bar for the national average ever so slightly. Just don't let yourself be driven to pursue unhealthy means of weight loss, and be sure you know when to stop.
Whatever motivates you to lose weight...do it.
What motivated me when I was almost 400lbs was when I was on s family cruise, and a shirt that was a 4x didn't fit me anymore.
Whatever motivation you have...use it to fuel you. Just make sure that you go about your weightloss in a safe manner. There are plenty of people on this site, as well as myself, that are able to give you advice. 8-)
There are no bad reasons to better yourself, only bad excuses not to.
If you know that the envy is a bad thing then make sure to work on that as well as your weight.

It's good that you're loosing weight, and as long as it makes you feel better about yourself I don't see the harm in it. Don't compare yourself to much with others though, and don't loose weight by starving youself! I respect people who got the willpower to exercice
Yes, it's great motivation, although you should do it for better health.
It's a good motivator, but you have to realize that just because you lose weight and look better it doesn't mean girls are gonna come flocking to you
If it works, it's not a bad reason. As long as your being healthy about it, it should be fine.
