Probably a stupid question to some, but girls please help!

I was doing a breast self-exam today and noticed when I squeeze down, I can feel a ball like thing inside. Is this normal? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question to ask. But when you squeeze down, are you suppose to feel stuff in there, or is it suppose to feel empty?

Smooth? It's probably a collection of fat. If it's not smooth, go see a doctor. I've been losing weight, and I have a smooth lump in my stomach area, and I told the doc about it, and he said not to worry because it's smooth... I know I'm not a chick, but there's my 2 cents on it.

I can't tell you a lot! But nay sort of ball that wasn't there before is something to run to the doctor about. Odds are it's nothing serious, but...

I know what your talking about -

It's not a cancerous lump, those are harder and don't feel apart of your boob.

What you feel I'm guessing, would be the glandular tissues, lobes ( that produce milk,) and some fat for cushioning.

I don't squeeze it hard but if I put pressure it will start to hurt a little

Lol I do feel them when I squeeze. There's no way your boobs would be filled with nothing, your mammary glands have to be positioned somewhere so milk can come out of them lol

I squeezed to hard once and it hurt lol :P I noticed the lumps on the inside when I was 16, passed every breast exam my doctor did so

ha ha she's probably thinking of abnormal lumps - unless she's got no mammary glands, if she feels herself up she'll feel them beneath the skin

ha ha it's never too bad to be a bit over cautious with yourself - always great to catch cancer as early as possible as well ^^

I agree. But hopefully, we don't have to ever deal with cancer. Its such a scary thought.

oh definitey @ check ups - I try to eat healthy / exercise / and keep life as stress free as possible. not sure what causes cancer but I'm sure a bad lifestyle doesn't help lol. Hope you don't get it either :)

Thank you. :} I've actually heard stress can really cause sometimes due to it affecting the immune system, and I think I'm almost a hypochondriac because I notice if I feel like I have a symptom over anything small, I look up the symptoms online and make them sometimes 10x's bigger than they are.. definitely not a good thing to do. I'm generally majorly stressed.

Oh yea be careful with that - I've heard of some hypo people self medicating and hurting their bodies because of it : \

You'll know when something's wrong - you just won't feel like yourself, your body has it's way of letting you know when something is up - so don't freak yourself out too much lol.

Yeah, I've been trying to get a grasp of it. I don't think I'm really bad to the extent of trying to self medicate, but I freak out a lot is my problem. I think the smallest thing is something bad. My doctor prescribed my Celexa, but I heard a lot of bad things about it and I didn't feel he spent enough time with me to really get a good idea on what I need. (talked 5 minutes).. so I didn't take it lol but I'm slowly overcoming it. My dad told me my body would let me know as well :}

pff doctors are so useless these days lol too busy to care honestly - they become desensitized to people's health issues because they deal with so many all day.

I think it might help if you start believing in the power of your body to fight off disease and heal itself. Your body is constantly under attack by all matters of bacteria and bad things everyday, and your immune system kicks ass lol were a complex biological machine so don't fret too soon

I agree on the doctors statement. Most of them don't even care, just as long as they get the pay check they feel they "deserve" even if they don't do anything. You're right on the immune system, but sometimes my mind just panics. I should know better than to look up symptoms on google, 99% of the time, it shows the worse thing possible. Lol xD

ha ha ha yea internet isn't the most scholarly source - yea no one wants to get ill or feel bad, so I get your concern. When it happens just take a deep breath and relax. Rationalize.

I'm definitely trying :} I'm doing better than I was a couple weeks ago. I'm trying to keep myself in the mind set to stop the urge from typing the symptoms on the internet and rationalize it first clearly in my mind.

If you squeeze yours -- do you feel anything within it? Like, if I grab mine near the side and squeeze, I can feel something in there within it.
