I can walk on it, but it does hurt after a while. I'll be going to the doctor if it doesn't get better.

I agree with Longshot: you could either had sprained strain your muscles or ACL. If pain persisted way too long, don't prolong going to get yourself check by professional. Your doctor can give you recommendations to get therapeutic rehabilitation to get a light range motion streches.' Hope nothing is serious.
It could be many things so if I was you and I had medical insurance I would go ahead and go to the doctor. It's better to be safe than sorry, or in pain.

It could be a bunch of things. Maybe a bruise, a sprain, or even more serious injuries such as broken bones or torn ligaments. Try to rest your knee and ice it. If the pain doesn't go away it would be a good idea to go to the doctor.
