You're doing this for yourself, and "vegetarian" is just a title. You don't have to follow some set of rules set down by another person about their food choices in order to be "doing in right". I know this probably isn't making a whole lot of sense typed out, it makes sense in my mind xD
... What I'm trying to say is, there is no "right" and "wrong" when it comes to your diet, so eat whatever you want. If you don't eat meat but have some cheese and milk occasionally, who cares? As long as you are healthy it's all good.
About your question - many people do eat dairy and eggs and still call themselves vegetarian and nobody loves them less for it :)
As far as going vegetarian in a family who eats meat 24/7, it's not a walk in the park but I've done it and you can do it too. The easiest way is to cook for yourself. That way your mom or whoever it is that cooks doesn't get tired of always having to make something special for you. When I started I found that cooking for myself was actually something I looked forward to. It definitely isn't a dull diet like a lot of people seem to think.
You'll want your family to respect your choice, so I recommend not trying to convert them to vegetarianism or telling them not to eat meat. Respect their food choices and they will respect yours, and if they ask about the things you eat then go ahead and tell them, but don't be pushy about it. This is a mistake that a lot of new vegetarians make, and it comes back to bite them hard when they fall out of vegetarianism.
Research the different vitamins and nutrients that the body needs and learn what foods provide them. I recommend finding a good multivitamin supplement with vitamin B12 and iron, as those are harder to come by on a veggie diet.
And remember that if your body is really craving meat, you're probably either lacking protein or iron (more likely). Good luck!

I've been a vegetarian for 11 years (:. Vegetarians do eat eggs and drink milk and stuff, vegans don't. Vegan people also don't use leather and wool for clothes as far as I recall. So yeah, you can eat cookies and eggs, lol.
If you do not cook for yourself and your mom makes dinner, you will quickly become bored with a vegetarian regimen. It is not bad for teenagers to be vegetarian (like how some people are answering your question). In fact, whole CULTURES are vegetarian (Asian Indians, for example). If you were brought up eating meat, it will be difficult for you to go cold turkey. Why not go in stages, say, cutting out red meats and pork, then chicken, then fish (although there is some really good sushi out there :) Then once you are on your own, go completely vegetarian, but by then, you will know several recipes and ways to get the nutrients you need. BTW, one of the good things to limit your diet is gluten. Look it up. Good Luck!
Sure, you don't want to eat anything with a face, but you have no problem eating corn ears or lettuce heads, and uprooting the happy vegetable kingdom families! Just because you can't hear the screams of the daddy vegetables as you rip them from their homes, nor do you have to face their widowed wives and orphaned children. You fiend!

Yes if you cut that out (dairy) then you wouldn't be a vegetarian you would be a vegan. Most vegetarian still drink milk and eat eggs. It is all preference though I still eat eggs every so often but my sister doesn't. She has dairy but she won't pick up a glass of milk or put it in cereal. Cook your own food. :P When I started out it was really easy. People think you diet becomes boring and think you can only chew on a celery stick, that is such a lie. I love dumplings, stir fry, pasta dishes, casseroles and so on. You become more creative and it becomes very fun. Their are a lot of things you can buy at the store that will help you a lot. Morning star is a great and so is a product called Garden.

linki'm on the same boat as you,and yes,it's vegetarianism. vegetarians don't eat meat, vegans don't eat anything that comes from animals. but if you'd like to go a step further toward veganism, try switching regular milk for soy milk,or almond milk-they're delicious (I hate cow milk anyways) and there are vegan cheeses so it's an option, but vegan food is usually expensive,at least where I'm from. learn to cook on your own.
You can be ovo lacto vegetarian which means you eat milk and eggs. Most vegetarians do.
You can eat all the side dishes that don't have meat, and add some canned beans, cheese, yogurt, a glass of milk, or some BBQ tofu for protein.Yes you can eat things with milk...your vegetarian not vegan...if your parents eat meat...try talking to them...or when your at the store ask off they can buy salad...that's all I can do sorry...but good luck
I never ate any nonveg. even I treat egg also as non-veg. I am pure vegetarian.
It's bullsh*t and not good for you no matter what all the freaks say. You have meat eating teeth for a reason.
