Red bumps... how can I make them stop?

My skin gets irritated after shaving my crotch.. I don't know how to fix this. It's fine for the first few hours after the shave, but after that my skin gets all red and itchy and bumpy and irritated, and it stays that way until after the hair has all grown back in. Are there any tricks to make this stop? I've tried shaving cream, soap, even hair conditioner lol.. I use a good razor, I take my time and do it very carefully, I don't wear tight clothes immediately afterward, I've tried using moisturizer ... I don't know what to do! Help!

if you don't wear under wear (some girls dont) that does cause that problem, but other that I don't know and this is exactly why I stopped shaving mine I couldn't stand the bumps and I don't get extremely hairy anyways so if the guy likes me enough to be having sex with me he should like me enough to deal with it

Have you just started shaving down there? Are you shaving with or against the grain? When I first started shaving I shaved everyday for a week strait. Why? Because the skin would get used to it and not react as much. Waxing it is a sure fire way and looks much better, but it's your body so it's your choice.

The only solution I could find for myself was waxing. It really isn't as painful as I thought it would be, and my skin feels way better after. You might get red the day you do it, but it clears up pretty quick.

I know it may sound crazy, but if you soak in the tub before shaving it helps & using dove soap while shaving. Also for when you get out of the shower you need to use a good lotion that is not scented, like curle. I think that's how you spell it. One more thing, the razor you use needs to be a good one like pro glide ( mans razor). Hope this helped.
