For the second question: No. It is not unreasonable for a person who is fit to not want to go out with a man or woman that is fat.
Being fit is not easy. Fit people may make it look easy but it is not. Some have to work harder at it than others, but none of it is easy.
Some bitch who has always been skinny or fit has to always watch what she eats. Most of the time it's grossly unnecessary but they still have to do it.
Others have to work at it in the gym, but they still have to work.
So no, it is not hypocritical to want someone who seems to have a similar and vested interest in their health and wanting to stay fit.
The girl who I was crushing on in high school pretty much seen me as an undatable fat f***, and yes I was hurt because of it, I mean I would consider myself an alright dude, but because I didn't look athletic or even "normal weight" she never would see me as anything more than just a friend. But, I do understand.
Yes, it's hypocritical, but mainly it just sucks for them. We're turned on by what we're turned on by. We can't help it. And since I know this, I know my chances of getting someone who turns me on go way up when I'm in shape. So I stay in shape. If they're unwilling to do that, and refuse to date people like them, well I guess that's their loss. I feel sorry for them to be stuck in that cycle, because they themselves perpetuate it. I mean if they won't date each other based solely on attraction, why would they expect the hot people to? Can't expect anyone to be any less shallow than yourself.
It's hypocritial, but people can date or not date whoever they want. However, expecting to get the qualities they want without offering them (or something else that is equally valued) in return doesn't generally work very well. But people have to be really honest with themselves about what is valued in the dating world.
Saying, "I'm fat, lazy and kinda dumb... but I'd be really faithful to a hot chick/dude" is something I hear a lot. Fidelity, while admired in a partner, only really qualifies as a great attribute once you pass the initial stages of attraction and shared values.

If you expect your girl to be thin, slim and sporty then maybe it's a good time to get your own fat ass up from the couch and hit the gym.
