The British are not No.1 at ANYTHING!?

have you noticed? I spent some time growing up in England and I just hate it Because I find its people and the country in general just so...incompetent.

I mean, politically, they are USA's lapdog and therefore have less real power than China, who can stick a finger to USA if they really want to.

Commercially, I cannot name a single British company that's absolutely no,1 in the world in terms of competence.

USA top companies are everywhere, European companies as well such as Lous Vuitton, Ferrari and Mercedes, but the Brits have nothing. Even Rolls Royce is owned by the Germans.

Sports wise, nope, they suck at every sport, even Manchester United is nowhere as good or prestigious as Real Madrid or Barcelona.

I can go on and on but I just have this feeling that the best the British can ever get at anything that means anything is a no.2 status, They are never "The best in the world" at ANYTHING!

Oh I forgot to mention one very key point, which is, they aren't no.1 at anything BUT they behave and act and think of themselves as if they ARE the no.1 at something, which they aren't.

Just like what is happening in the US today, Brits have become very dependent on government. The British people have lost their sense of independence, work ethic, personal responsibility for outcomes and consequences for their actions. All the motivators for excellence have either been removed or significantly diminished.

The liberalism that has dominated the political landscape in Britain for years has taken a toll. We are seeing the same thing in the US today, although not quite as extreme. We are definitely on the same path, though.

Both Britain and the US have become followers rather than leaders. We are the victims of our own complacency.

The British were the most imperialistic nation in the history of the world (imo even moreso than the United States). People of British descent are ALL over the world today; probably the most widespread people in the world.

Remember this; the British nation language (English), is the by far the #1 most spoken language in the world, and y'all are the originators of it!

but the English language thing is like a scientist who discovered air / oxygen.

whether they discovered it or not, all humans would still be breathing just the same and there is no point to be proud as if human can't breath without that discovery.

so Is there really anything worthy to be proud of for being the country that happened to have a language which came to dominate the world? I mean, if it wasn't English it would have been another language and the world would be pretty much the same.

Why would one not be proud that their language has taken over the world, and was a creation of your nation?

In terms of prestige, Real Madrid is on a level that Man You can never reach.

In terms of footballing philosophy, Barcelona is on a level that Man You can never reach.

Man You can't reach those height even without those 2 teams

But the English language?

There is no such thing as a "better" language.

English became #1 because history dictated it that way and not because you guys did anything significant. And yet, you guys think that is something worthy to be proud of.

You're not wrong tbh, America are first in a lot, but you forgot highest rate of mass shootings, high school drop outs, and teenage pregnancies.

China is over populated and you have to pay to have a second child.

No country is perfect, and UK used to have a lot of power. I'm proud to be English, but I don't look down at other countires for lacking in certain areas, and the same should be applied to us. Every country has had it's high points and low points.

I personally think they dominate at top jobs as emigrants in lots of countries... media,... entertainment...lookwise (sometimes)... and also getting genetic diseases

I just came across an article about Dyson and it made me come straight back to this post to further iterate my point using Dyson as an example and I saw your reply.

I mean,this guy made a Fking VACUUM CLEANER,he didn't make an iPhone or Facebbok or Ferrari, he did really well at something that no one cares about! NO ONE GIVES A SHIIT ABOUT A VACCUM CLEANER! and YET! somehow you people praise him like he is some god of invention, fking PLEASE ALREADY!

Honestly, about the only thing that I would say the British does better than everyone else, is Formula One.

You basically own everything behind F1 and most teams are based in England,except the most famous one: Ferrari.

But even then, the only top Brit team McLaren sucks and you have never created a truly dominating champion driver.

Actually, to be fair, you have Top Gear. I will admit it is the best car show in the world.

Since you mention iPhones - they, along with iPods, iPads, iMacs, etc were all designed by an Englishman. It's the same with architecture - many of the world's great buildings were designed by Brits too.

Noone else cares about F1, as other countries have their own equivalent. We make the best lightweight sportscars in the world (Lotus, Caterham, Radical, Ultima, Ariel, Caparo, etc), plus many other sportscars (Morgan, McLaren, Noble, etc)

So you see, the British are still the best at most things - it's just that we're so good, the rest of the world employs us to do things for them, so much of our best work is done outside the UK (which pays better).
