Speaking as someone who has studied food technology, and all my core work was on vegetarians (vegan is a type of vegetarian) I can firmly say that no, a vegan diet will not make you healthy.
What's healthy is having a BALANCED DIET. This includes meat, diary, etc. The vegan diet is quite unhealthy unless you take a long list of supplements, this isn't to say its unhealthier than eating a steak every day, but either way it's the wrong kind of diet for someone trying to be healthy. Healthy =/= skinny.

Eating vegan isn't necessarily healthier. You can eat healthy on a vegan diet but you can do the same on a normal diet. You should actually eat mainly fruits, vegetables, healthy oils and lean proteins, very rarley other carbs if you're trying to lose weight. Eggs, meat and plain dairy products are among the healthiest foods out there
Leave out processed food, exercise ... link , but a vegan diet is not at all necessary.
There's nothing wrong with that approach, but as with any diet, you have to strictly control the total calories yu consume if you want to lose weight. Eating little one day, then a lot the next, is not going to work for losing weight. It's the total calories that are important, not so much what you are eating, although you can't overdo fat intake since you will then be hungry for carbos all the time and won't be able to keep to your calorie limit.
Vegan dieting is mainly done for ethical reasons, NOT for health/weight loss. Getting lean is actually more difficult as a vegan because the foods you eat, while low calorie, make it more difficult to regulate blood sugar as well as make it a bit more difficult to meet protein goals. For weight loss, simply eat at a calorie deficit (not too much of one) and engage in high intensity exercises. Cardio from sprints and strength training.

My trainer has me eat vegetarian at lunch and lean meat with vegetables at dinner. I'm not sure in convinced but his thinking is that your body uses the meat when repairing itself during the night and uses more carbs in the day for energy.
Just an idea.
Not all vegan food is healthy.
While I often eat at a vegan restaurant vegetarian is much easier. I do consume eggs cheese yogurt etc during the day.Yeah it's not heathy I was overweight and had bad cholesterol. My doc said to exercise more and try to cut red meat and cheese. She suggested the DASH diet and it worked! I started at 195lb and now I'm 160lb with good cholesterol. I feel good and look better just google DASH diet. And it's not a weird diet either it's just a well rounded diet.
Being vegan isn't necessarily healthier than having an ordinary diet including meat. Meat has a lot of nutrients that plants don't have. If you want to switch off every day, what I do is instead of only eating vegan I switch chicken and red meat days. I don't want to eat too much red meat so I sometimes change for chicken. Just make all your snacks in between meals vegan snacks and you will lose your 15 pounds.
yes I am,and that's not a vegan diet, but an omnivorous one,why even call it vegan? I'm not trying to be a bitchy vegan here, but it's just pointless. and you can lose weight on an omni diet, just limit your calories
Doing a vegan diet is not like following a religion so yes you can definitely include that in your diet if you wish until you *feel*your body doesn't crave for it anymore.
Just eat raw vegetables only which you can supplement with an occasional cup of dirt.
