Is it okay if you're pale?

I'm really pale and I want to tan so much because all my friends do it but there is skin cancer in my family so I have to be really careful and probably shouldn't tan. A lot of people tell me that my skin is porcelain and that pale is coming back in, but I'm just wondering what guys think. I feel so self-conscious when I'm wearing shorts around tan girls, so are any of you guys okay with a paler girl? I also heard that it's okay to be pale if you're black, brown, or red-haired but not if you're blond. Is that true? Because I have darker blond hair. I'd say my skin is about like Anne Hathaway's skin.

You should visit a doctor to do some tests about that skin cancer your talking about.

There's a certain % chance that you can get it, depending on different, slightly complicated genes and if both parents have it or what not, I'm not an expert on that kinda stuff. I just know it's not 100% chance that you have bigger chance getting skin cancer then normal. A doctor can tell you that by just taking a blood test. And even if the chances is there, pale doesn't mean ugly at all.

Yeah, pale skin is great! The same way that blondes and brunettes are both attractive, both dark and light-skinned women are beautiful.

I wouldn't worry about tanning if I were you. There's plenty of guys who enjoy your look. Just take good care of it. Smooth is good. Clear of acne is good. Hairless is good. Tight is good.

I think every looks fine in the skin their in has long has they are comfortable with it.

By you showing your discomfort with your own skin, you may stand out more to people in a negative way.

They will sense this about you, and see it clearly.

Pale is Beautiful I know lots of people that actually want pale skin, its just cause the media makes people think you have to be tan and skinny, but lets face it most people that end up buying tan products just look orange. Just be happy with the skin you have all skin types are beautiful no matter what.

I'm Indian so my skin is naturally tan, and I get compliments from white skinned people all the time saying oh I love yoru skin wish I had it , etc.

but I love pale/white skin, I think it's absolutely beautiful.

Any skin tone is beautiful as long as you keep it healthy and clean

so no you don't need to tan, esp if there's cancer in your family.

Im so pale sweetie! I live in one of the most central places for tanned people too, so it sucks being pale, but honestly I've kind of learned to embrace it since it takes way too much effort and time to even gain a shade darker in pigment.

Never ever heard that being a problem, why would it be. Are people generally tanned in winter? Nope you'd be fine with blond hair too. Guys would find you attractive regardless you're tanned or not.

Of course it is. I wish I could tan too but it never lasts very long.. I start peeling like crazy a few days after I burn/tan.

I personally think in general girls with tanner skin are hotter, but I think girls with paler, whiter skin are more beautiful. Also, pale breasts are hotter :)
