if you are having teeth pain try your best to see a dentist. I lived with 3 or 4 really bad teeth that hurt 85% of the time, it was so common after I gotten them pulled I felt weird to have a mouth with no pain. Going to the dentist is in my small list of things I'm happy that I spent good money on.
it depends on how bad the infection is and how far it's spread. it can be anything from minor pain to swelling in your mouth, under your chin, or outside your jaw line.

If you have an infected tooth or infected roots, you'll know it. Either your tooth will hurt or be sensitive, or you will develop an abscess on your gum if your roots are infected.
Symptoms can include -
Tooth sensitivity
Toothache
Jaw pain
Headache
Fever
Swelling
Nausea
It doesn't have to be severe pain. Usually the pain is more severe when the infection is more severe. A minor infection will result in lesser symptoms. Without treatment, it will get worsex of course.
