Anyone else sick of all the PC sports mascot debate?

I'm sick to death of this issue. First off, I can't understand why Native Americans are so upset. The reason they're used as mascots is out of respect. I wish my race was celebrated for being fierce warriors, that's the highest compliment you could pay me. If you don't like "redskins", fine, but you can't change just the name? If you called a team the Fighting Crackers, I'd drape myself head to toe in their gear, that's awesome.

I mean, I have Swedish in me, and I'm not at all offended by the Minnesota Vikings. I have Irish in me, but the Notre Dame Fighting Irish doesn't offend me either. Point is, it's just a mascot. I have nothing but respect for Native Americans, but I can't stand when people get all offended about things. I personally would like to nominate the Washington Corny White Guys for consideration. Lighten up, people!

The thing is that most Native Americans aren't offended by the name, it's just a handful of small activist groups and the media is blowing it way out of proportion in their haste to be politically correct and making it seem like it's a huge campaign. I'm part Cherokee myself and it doesn't bother me at all.

They're not even offended, it's the media that decided that the Native Americans are offended. That in itself is offensive.

I've asked this elsewhere and gotten absolutely KILLED by native Americans. '"I'm not your mascot." I get if you don't like Redskins, but what's wrong with the Chiefs or the Braves or the Fighting Sioux? Maybe it's a bit of a Hollywood depiction, but the idea of war cries and tomahawks and scalping and bows and arrows and sh*t? That's f***ing BADASS. I'm ashamed that my people don't have cool sh*t like that in our history.
