The supplement industry has been doing this forever. This is nothing new.
Mike Chang's just promoting that silly preworkout now so that's why you're seeing him all over YouTube. I think it got bad/mediocre reviews anyway. People are saying he's a sellout now when the truth is he's just an even bigger sellout. He's been selling stuff forever.
The other problem is people's typical need for instant gratification. If you tell a guy it would take him 6 months to get in shape, he wouldn't want to hear it. If you told him he'd get results in 90 days with this program, he'll be more likely to participate so you sell him some chemical/placebo and tell him to go workout.

Absolutely correct buddy!
Hard work and know how of how and when both in terms of exercise and diet.
People get tricked cause they know health and physiology is important but for some reason (most likely work pressures and other stuff) they don't prioritize it. Which is why they look out for faster means of getting into shape and healthy. They go by the advise of others or by what's written / said in the sales gimmick w/o bothering to find out how something affects their own physiology.
Truth is, even when we think we're being healthy by eating fruits and vegetables, we're just being unhealthy. Everything now is artificial because there's too many people in the world, and it's hard to make healthy food for everyone. I think the only way to lose weight is to have that motivation and strength to want to run aroud, and exersice. I'm slim, and the doctor says that I'm healthy, but like I said, I need that motivation to Want to stay fit, which is a struggle for me at the moment, even though I love exersice.
I think you mentioned you use whey protein.. that's a gimmick too... just a overpriced byproduct of the milk industry.

Everypone thinks they have the right to whatever they want without working, researching, or sacrificing for it.
Unfortunately, Obama can't call in a drone strike on their fat. So they try to convince themselves a pill or a nonsense 'diet' will do it for them, without their having to give up their current 'lifestyle.'Everyone wants to change something, but we're all lazy and unwilling to change the things we like. So when someone offers you a magic pill that will supposedly make you lose fat or gain muscle without lifting a finger, you take it. Some of those people who are somewhat naive will probably fall for them.
People let themselves get tricked because they are lazy and want an easy fix.
They don't want to give up on yummy food and actually dedicate time to do some type of activity, no. They much rather believe that if they take a miracle pill, they can still be lazy, and eat yummy fattening food alll day and somehow the fat will miraculously disappear! xD Delusional.Because so many American's are overweight or unhealthy and many people feel pressured to look like a model so it's a great market for it. Most people with weight problems get that way because they're unmotivated to work out or eat right so something that promises a quick fix seems like a miracle to them.
Same reason there are a lot of financial gimmicks, and so on.
Most people literally aren't smart enough to learn enough to make reasonable choices on their own, and a chunk of the people who are smart enough don't want to go through the bother.
So they don't know what path is right, and then there is an army of people offering to help them for money, and they have no basis for choosing the right one or evaluating them.People often want the easy way out. Things like diet pills are advertised in such a way that make them sound easy and foolproof.
The people who create those pills and such were smart enough to figure out how to take advantage of people who are desperate to change their bodies yet who don't know (or are unwilling to try) the correct way to do it.For the same reason there are so many self-help gimmicks. People feel they need to lean on miracle cures for their emotional problems instead of actually taking the initiative in their own lives. We all have the potential within us we just have to get out of our own way.
Because of the MONEY that can be made, cha ching, cha ching! Lots of people try and fail to lose weight so there's a lot of $$$ to be made off of the idea that this ideal can be easily achieved. Just package it and sell it!
People are always looking for a quick fix, and there are people who feed those vulnerabilities. If there is money to be had there will also be a snake oil salesman.
it's supply and demand . if there was no demand they would try to sell stuff that will sell.
people want a quick solution to their problems so they can get on with their lives and believe it is working. they want to eat McDonald's and take a vitamin. it doesn't work
To lure health freaks like you into it. :D :D May be you should try working in their commercials and earn some extra green that way rotfl..hahahhaha
They know how to tap into the public's insecurities and make good fast money off gullible people. Create a problem and then come up a solution
everyone wants shortcuts, that's the reason all those ponzi schemes, infomercials and diet pills etc etc work so well in the market. People know they are probably bullsh*t but take the chance anyways
It's a universal human insecurity. Most people don't want to discipline themselves, and many are not very intelligent. They just want results and they want them now.
These products/services get created to capitalize on that.MONEY MONEY MONEY. The world revolves around MONEY. No further explanation needed.
