Few things you need to think:
- Think 10% exercise, 90% nutrition. It's a bit exaggerate but whatever you are training for, diet is the biggest part. Even body building, we need to look at rising Carbohydrates up.
But lowing weight, keep medium-low carbs, Good fats, high protein.
- Think Calories in, Calories out. If you burn more calories you consume, then you will lose weight. But the calories you are burning need to be those fats and carbs, okay?!
Still, if you are tired half way through the day, it means your burning energy you need to work efficiently so don't starve yourself, your body will just hold on to what it can (that fat). Instead, eat 6 meals a day, and have foods that are natural near by you so you will firstly go to them. Almonds, nuts, some salads, evening a protein shake would work.
- If you are really keen on this, you need to ensure your motivation anyway you think would work. For me, I look at food as a fuel and not a privilege. If you eat something over something better for your body, because you like the taste more, you need to cut it out.
I eat standing up, that way, I feel like I'm fueling my body what it needs and whats, not that packet of chips in the fridge that is like poison for it.
- Another thing you need to do, Eat at routine times. If you miss a time you usually eat, there's more chance you will binge eat later. So try to stick to them, and don't eat before or after you've eaten a meal. But once again, eat natural foods like whole-grains, nuts, vegetables because those are the things your body wants.
- Lastly, your workout. You say you do "Fitness classes" which is great for your heart, flexibility, endurance, and strength but it isn't ideal for your fat burning.
Fat is a complex energy source, and slow processing - So Ideal you want to do low intensity stuff that keeps you at 65% of your maximum heart heart. Slow jogging or speed walking with a friend might help you, because you can motivate each other. Meet at a specific hour each day you both can do.
You need to remember that you don't burn fat "during" the workout, but usually straight after you've finished it. Fat burns after a workout, at rest, for usually 2 hours.

Eat carbs before a work out, and protein after a workout, don't eat anything white like white pasta, bread, etc and make sure you eat carbs for breakfast and fibre, and drink lots of water when your hungry between meals, and don't eat sweets, fast foods, just chicken, veg, and beef to start, with the odd egg for breakfast and lunch, otherwise what you do down the gym is worthless,x
Duromine - appetite suppressant.
