for your height, that weight is basically perfect. but if you're very unhappy the best way to go about losing weight and keeping it off is to change your lifestyle. you have to make changes you are willing to maintain or else the weight will come back.
-exercise regularly, at least 4-5 times per week. regular cardio but also strengthening exercises. running is good but be sure to break it up with other ways of working your muscles like yoga, ab workouts, weights, etc.
-eat healthier. increase your protein, vegetable, fruit, and whole grain intake. decrease intake of things like sugar and unhealthy carbs (candy, cake, soda, white bread, pasta), proteins that aren't lean (fried meats, whole milk, cheese made with whole milk, hot dogs), and fast food.
-really watch carbs and sugar, those are the killers. sometimes you think you're being healthy, eating something like a granola bar, and then you look and see it has a ton of sugar.
-don't let the words "natural" or "organic" fool you. just because it's organic doesn't mean it's healthy. it can still be high in sugar and fat.
-only eat when you're hungry.
-try not to eat too much late at night. it's just harder for your body to digest when you're sleeping.
i've been following these guidelines for myself for about a year and a half. I lost 15 lbs in about 3 months and then I lost another 5 over the next few months. I've been maintaining that since then. I'm also a vegetarian. if you have anymore questions, let me know and I can try to help :D

Cut out diet drinks, coffee and alcohol if you consume those. I always hate that that's the first tip people give to lose weight since I don't drink any of it lol but still.
Hit the gym and do some cardio. Run, swim, and drink lots of water.
Also, do some weight training work outs. You should start doing some abdominal exercises and arms and legs.
Try to eat healthier. It shouldn't be that hard for you to drop the weight.
I am 110 (I'm 5'5) and I used to be 115 and that just looked bad - I looked really soft and pudgy so I hit the gym and dropped the weight in like one month. I have maintained this weight for a year and a half now but I do it by working out every day.
I'd caution you on the rib cage thing though. I speak from personal experience when I tell you that guys don't like seeing ribs lol.
A very primary measure of weight is, your weight should be the same number of pounds of your height in centimeters, or it should be around same number of kilograms of your height in inches. Girls / women may have about 10 % less of it. You are not over weight at all.
Weight maintenance has direct relation with your daily activity and food, but it is also dependent on your genetic make up. Easy way to control on food is to drink water - as much as you can at regular intervals - but with some salt or isotonic, and take food several times in small quantities.
I didn't want to jump to conclusions at first, but after reading the final portion of the question about wanting your rib cage and collarbones to go through, I strongly urge you to seek help. THIS sounds like textbook eating disorder habits and mentality. You need to seek help. The desire to see bones showing through is a sign of serious body image issues.

For one, let me say I think you are over doing this. 110 lbs @ 5'2" isn't bad by and means. Just because your family are super thin doesn't mean you have to be. Also being too thin is not only a health issue, but it's not attractive either. What you should be doing is putting on some lean muscle, if you really want to be sexier.
Also to increase metabolism you eat frequently, just in smaller amounts. About every 2-3 hours is ideal.110 lbs…. and your unhappy with your weight….

girl, that is a gorgeous weight...I'm 5'2 and used to be 110 and thought I looked too skinny... I don't think you need to loose weight at all.
