Self harm scars ? ways of healing
Silicone has had some results. Anything else that has worked for you?
I really recommend Cocoa Butter. The brand I use is Palmers Cocoa Butter. It makes a big difference, my scars are now barely noticeable. Although you have to be patient, apply it 2/3 times a day, always after washing, results can be seen though in 3 weeks.
Mederma, an over-the-counter ointment. It will definitely take a while (like 6+ months) for the scars(also used for stretch marks) to lighten, but the results are pretty good.
Bio oil is supposed to be good, I had a friend who self harmed when she was younger and used Bio oil to help lighten the scars on her arms. It worked really well, cause they are really faint scars now. I don't know how long it takes to show a difference though.
You could try Mederma Advanced Scar Gel or Bio-Oil. Those are supposed to work well on scars. Some people say Vaseline can help too 'cause it moisturizes the area and Vitamin E oil too. I had some scars on my knuckles from hitting the punching bag too much and causing the dry skin to split and used coconut oil lotion bars on them to fix some of the dryness on my hands, and it softened the scars quite a bit so they're not nearly as noticeable now. Same thing for some burn scars I had from cooking. I think moisture is the key. And of course, time softens the scars too.
micro-needling and topical copper peptides is a method that is affordable and effective for removing scars. derma roller, dermastamp, dermapen.
Thank you. I did a round of dry needling (tattoo gun) I don't think it made much of a difference. I have a derma roller as well. I've just been using different things to rub the scars then exfoliate and use silicone gel or sheets.
if you have self inflected scares get to a doctor. if you are to the point of iflecting wounds on your self, something has gone to far. I'm a psychologist I have dealt with this sort of thing. its not good. get to a doctor.
Thanks army dude its actually from when I was a teenager. It was just a few episodes. Not a problem now just want to get rid of the past inflictions.

Vaseline with aloe & E lotion can work wonders. With some sunlight in the summer they'll start to fade and blend in.
Lol I'm already brown so I don't tan. But from all my bang up scars sunlight makes them fade and blend in over the summer .
actually sunlight makes them fade a bit as well... But I have darkish to light skin. Just depends.
Get some coconut oil and some sun in the summer. That's what I do and you can barely see any scar on my body.
you need to massage them to break up the scar tissue, try caster oil and pregnancy stretch mark techniques
How effective is this? I think its helped with some but not all of them.
its quite effective, I don't know if its better or not than dry needling as I've never done that but I have a huge 2cm wide, 7 cm long scar from a fall and sliced my arm wide open. I've been doing massages with caster oil for 6 months and its now pale and pliable (it was an angry redish purple and rigid at first) and you can't see it very well. the doctor told me this was a good way to break up scars and stretch marks
anything with vitamin E is good for any type of scar. I had surgical scars, so theyre even deeper and I was recommended creams with vitamin E.
lol I use a healing concealer so no one can see them and they heal faster
Try bio oil for scars
