How do you pick a dentist?

So all the dentists with really great reviews are not covered by my insurance. So... doing a lot of research work here.

How do YOU pick YOUR dentist?

Call around. I literally called over 30 dentists in my area to find one that would take my insurance and that my insurance would cover. Frustrating but it was worth. Unfortunately, the main dentist who worked there moved and the other guy was a dick so I stopped going there just recently. So I'm back to square one and going to have to research for a new doctor here in a couple months.

Well, if they use mercury/amelgom fillings, it doesn't matter how good their review is, they're instant no.

Look for ones that care about you taking care of your own teeth, and don't push for things like root cannels and crowns without other options (big money makers).

well people need root cannels and such if something has gone too far without prevention

I'm covered with every dentist I go to so I just have to find a good one. Usually I go online to find it. That's what I did a couple of month ago, he was great and I didn't pay for a thing.

my client is a dentist in the richest residential area of tokyo and he waives the co-pay so I go to him

Look at your insurance to see who accepts Dentists in your area & then look them up.

I met my Dentists at health clubs. I didn't know they were dentists at 1st. They seemed like pretty nice guys so I tried them out.
