It's all about self-control, until you develop and get used to a steady routine for yourself. Your results are what will keep you going (results don't happen overnight).
After the first few times you step on the scale and notice a significant difference, I'm sure you'll find exercising and staying healthy a whole lot easier, because there's really no better feeling (besides maybe eating chocolate).
Some general tips:
- Drink plenty of water, and cut out all other kinds of drinks from your diet.
- Eat your fruits and veggies.
- Do a lot of cardio, like running, biking, swimming, hula-hooping, etc.
- Look up before/after weight loss pictures online for motivation!
I'm not much of a chocolate person, but I feel you on the whole eating-right thing. It's okay to splurge on your favorite foods every once in a while, but you're not going to see results if you splurge like, everyday.

No soda, no candy, processed sugar, etc. Basically no junk food or anything that is not natural.
Eat more fresh veggies & fruits. Low amount of carbs, more protein. Eat foods with fiber, drink lots of water. Detox my body, eat healthy portions and more of them like 5 - 6, instead of 3 big meals. Lots of small healthy snacks in between. Daily walking, running if I feel like it and do pilates, body weight workouts and am starting to add weights now. I learn to control what I eat and tell myself to stop craving food I once loved. It won't be easy & I don't think you should stop eating it all at once because you'll go crazy. Eliminate what is easiest first and start to knock off bad food with good food. Your body will accept anything good and you will start to not crave that old "bad" food. It's all in your head I think.
I've set a weight goal and a finish date. I track my weight using the free WeightMeter App. (You can do the same on graph paper). I exercise 30 min. a day and I eat just one generous meal daily. I've stayed on track to lose just 0.2 lbs daily.
When I'm tempted to deviate from my weight loss plan, I bring my thoughts back to the goal of someday wearing clothes that don't fit, having a trim body, having more flexibility and agility and feeling physically fit. It is very much a mental battle. I think the saying is, "Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels."
Fill up on fruit so you're not hungry, and occupy yourself with something so you don't eat out of boredom.

I don't have a strict diet, but I stick to healthy foods because its what I enjoy.
I love fruit salads, yogurt, home made pot pie/beef stews. Things like that. In order for you to stick to your diets you have to enjoy what you are eating. I strongly recommend going to Pinterest and look at recipes they have there on the Food Category and see what healthy foods you can find to enjoy and lose weight. And continue to eat chocolate...they say that dark chocolate is very good for you but I still prefer my milk chocolate over that.Set yourself achievable goals.
When I wanted to lose weight I thought "Okay I'll cut out all Coke, takeaway, cheese, etc" and for me personally that just isn't realistic. When that didn't work, I changed my plan. I could have a small bottle of coke once a week, order pizza once a month, have light cheese a little less often, etc. I didn't set myself a goal I would never reach, I just limited how much of what I loved I could have.
If you love chocolate, don't cut it out. You can still be healthy and have some chocolate, just set yourself a goal of a few chunks a week.
Also, something that helped me was to remember what I wanted. When I could order pizza I thought "I want to be healthy and lose weight more than I want pizza"Total control of yourself, it can come handy in other things too in your life. You control yourself, you control your life. Draw a plan for yourself and follow it daily. no shortcuts and no cheating. You can achieve something only when you REALLY want something, when you crave and Hungry for it, only then your mind will push you through a mater.
So my method isn't good probably, but every day I wake up and stand naked in front of a mirror and say, "Wow, you fat ass. You will not touch junk food today and you will hit the gym for at least an hour."
And then I do just that and I tell myself that every day until I get where I want to get.My dear friend, just enjoy your food and forget about calories! Sky will not fall if you do not lose weight! Just be happy.
