Here's the thing. Slower thyroids make you spend less energy, but they also lower your appettite too, so it evens out.
There's no difference in obesity rates amongst people of different thyroid levels. The effort to lose the weight the same.
Btw, I finally lost it (for good) when I stopped listening to nutritionists. There is no such thing as "healthy food" or "weightloss food"... There's just calories in, and calories out.

you really should get on some sort of medication (I suggest levothyroxine)
i have hashimoto's thyroiditis and I didn't get me weight under control until I began treatment for it
i have lost some weight sence I've began hormone replacement therapy, but the reality is that it's EXTREAMLY difficult to loose weight with a metabolism as crappy as ours
i think the best way for you to loose weight is to get on some meds and eating 6 small meals a day to help boost your metabolism
I have normal thyroids and I guess because you've got hypothyroidism, you have to work harder than most to keep that weight off.
here is a link that says basically that you should look into multivitamins, avoid iodine blockers and avoid fats/ oils.

i believe my grandma has hypothyroidism as well and she does exercise a lot too. just keep being healthy and check back with a doctor as well.
