Whether it's high or low is really relative to your income and where you live, but in terms of what a person actually needs living in a non super-urban area it's a little high.
If you spend $600/month on food and clothes that means you're spending ~$20/day on those. You shouldn't really be spending money on clothes every month, clothes are expensive and that's because they last quite a while. As for food you probably eat out a lot to rack up that much expense whereas buying groceries and preparing it at home is a lot cheaper.
Of course if you live in an extremely urban area prices will be considerably higher and affect this.

I usually spend between 30-60 dollars a week on groceries, but that includes alcohol. So, 120-240 a month. I live in a moderately priced area, but not a huge city. I buy things on sale, but do eat fresh produce and more healthy options.
I don't buy clothes every month, normally I only buy clothes once or twice a year, and might drop a couple hundred dollars each time, business casual stuff is expensive and I need it for my office job.
So yes, 800 dollars would be high for me. Thats 200 dollars a week. How are you spending that? For one person?
i spend about $450 on month just on food, but I eat very healthy and I cook all my meals/snacks and them to work with me. I bye clothes not often as I am still the same size I wore in high school and am in uniform (workout clothes) more often then I am in other clothes.
i buy like 50 worth of snacks every month. i dont shop for clothes often :(
400-800 is pretty decent if thats clothes and meals together. if you live alone or have kids, thats pretty damn good. pat on back for that.

Are you spending for just yourself? Seems like a lot, but then I only buy food on monthly basis - not clothes. I can get under 200 dollars a month depending on what's in season.
Not a lot . I don't shop a lot , but sometimes when i get really houngry in school I'd buy chinese. Most likely less then 50$?
Fot myself and BF about 600 a month for food and about 400 on shoes and about 200 on clothes.
Usually $18 to $22, depending on my luck with the dumpsters.
That's high, unless you're creating your wardrobe for the first time.
