Does the first dance at a wedding have to be to a slow song?

  • Nope. We no longer live in an age where there are set rules for how a wedding has to function. You can cut the cake now before you walk down the isle and wear a purple tux if you want. Have fun, do what you love with the one you love on your day. It will be much more memorable for the two of you that way rather then sticking to a stuffy tradition if that isn't something you want to do.

  • I think it should be to a song that is a good representation of the couple. It doesn't necessarily have to be a slow song, but It shouldn't be anything vulgar that refers to sex or drugs UNLESS you are surrounded by a bunch of free spirited people who won't be offended.

  • No. It's entirely up to the bride and groom.

  • It's not a rule, you can do what you want, but it's definitely more romantic than some hip hop song.
