What would be good decision for a girl of 26 years old if she wants to do PHD and the family wants to see her married?

In Indian culture 22–27 is the right time for girls to get married. For an educated girl it is not always easy to find a good match at this age range (unless she luckily found someone). So what would be the good decision for a girl at age 26? Should she sacrifice her partner searching by marrying someone with low profile or wait for her better career and totally focused on education and career?

  • A woman shouldn't take up space in a doctoral program. She won't use the education in her life and she is blocking out a male candidate who would. You need to drop out, get married and start making Indian babies.

Well Brazilian culture and Indian isn't the same.

Most people stay in their families homes for a long time after marriage. Their families are closer and different

@yucel_eden Yeah, culture should be taken in consideration but I think that her ambitions must come first. It's better to have her PHD and be happy than being married and frustrated. If her family loves her they may understand, even if it's with the time.

  • Do not marry someone you dont love. That said, if you can find a guy, great. Otherwise? Terrible idea. Work on your career, just dont forget your love life

  • Better find a mate in your 20's. You'll find it difficult to attract the men you want when your in your 30's and have to settle for less than you could have in your 20's.

What Girls Said 1

  • Do both! You can focus on a phd, and if you meet someone decent while studying, you can also marry.
