I think most guys like the feel of a smooth shaved leg on a girl, I know I'm no exception to that. If we were living in the 1800's or early 1900's it wouldn't be a big deal since most women didn't shave back then. They didn't need to since they wore mostly dresses that came down to the ground so their legs were covered up. It was when dresses started coming up above the ankle and women started wearing nylons underneath their dresses that it started to become custom for women to shave their legs since leg hair underneath the nylons looked unsightly.
Somewhere between the start of the popularity of shorter dresses and nylons and now the perception of women not shaving their legs got to be where it is considered gross and unhygenic. While I won't go quite that far, the reality is that a lot of guys do and so you may find that a lot of guys won't date you for that reason. Of course once you do find a guy that doesn't mind you not shaving you have to hope he can deal with other people looking over and possibly staring at you because they can see the hair on your legs. My experience is that there aren't a lot of those guys out there so while you might still get dates they will probably be a lot fewer than someone who shaves her legs.
Girls don't have to shave their legs. It's not a mandate or a law or anything.
But if a girl wants to be attractive to any mainstream guy (98% of the male population), then she has to shave her legs. It's extremely unattractive. Girls have much nicer skin than guys on average, so by shaving their legs they're exposing their best asset.
I think if you are initially on the look-out for a guy then you will find that most of them don't like leg hair. But after a while in a relationship guys seem to turn a blind eye to such things.
Most guys I know would rather date a lady with hairy legs than one with hairy arm pits though.
Men generally don't like women to have hairy legs as it's the way men have had it drilled in to them that women need to be clean cut etc. Just the same way that we've had it drilled in to us that we should all wash and so on.

I am a woman and I know the pain of shaving trust me but one thing I don't get is why is it so bad that if we don't shave it's gross but guys don't have to shave we have to go through the pain of buying all the things we need. But guys don't have to shave. When girls get pregnant we get big and we won't be able to shave our legs so that usualy when the man or your best friend steps in so guys can't complain about girls legs when y'all say you would break up with a girl because of hairy legs that means your not a man. We don't needto shave for anybody at all because I think it's gross when mens chest is hairy but I don' make y'all shave it. so why make us shave? That's my question.
haha hmm. I hate shaving my legs cause I just can't be bothered. I do in summer, but in winter I tend to just leave it for like 3 weeks and then shave them again, another few weeks, and then shave them. when I was with my ex boyfriend and we were lying in bed, I would be like, warning, I haven't shaved my legs so your not touching them, and he would be like, I don't care kiss me. and then when I shaved them freshly, I was like, wow look at my nice smooth legs, he really liked them. wooo. shave, even though we can't be effed :( just do it!
I am no guy here but not shaving your legs would turn most of the guys off only because its just makes sense for girls to keep their skin smooth and clean. If I didn't shave my legs, trust me, I wouldn't like them and its for my own personal hygiene. You don't have to shave them if you don't want to, but you can't expect guys (at least most of them) to be seduced by your unshaven legs. I am sorry if I sound harsh or like a bitch, but its reality. Non-shaved legs = a turn off.

I dated a girl in HS that was a swimmer and didn't shave for 5 months straight leading into and during swimming season. Not sure what the benefit was for that, but anyway, to answer your question, no. And it shouldn't. I think it's just a thing that most guys expect, if for no other reason than they've not ever been around girls that don't shave. And honestly, for how fast the stubble came back in when my ex shaved regularly during the spring and summer, and for the effort involved, she could've just quit. They only stayed smooth for a couple hours at a time, as opposed to being soft when the hair was grown in and staying that way with no effort. Hope that helps.
It would stop me from dating you, sorry. It sucks that this is the way things have turned into for girls. But yeah, you would have to find a hippie boyfriend to date. You know what they say, beauty is pain.
The average guy, like, a really high percentage of them, would NEVER date a girl who didn't shave her legs and armpits AT least. It's just gross to us. And it isn't a matter of, "Oh well you guys don't so why should I?" If you don't want to shave your legs, fine, but I'm warning you, you won't find a lot of guys who'll be turned ON by that.

soft legs is a form of attraction with guys. so hairy legs would probably have the opposite effect right? I don't know though whatever floats your boat maybe you could braid it or something.
you probably wouldn't be able to find a guy that likes hairy legs. I think they like being able to touch their girls legs and feel how soft they are, not feel the same thing they can feel on their own legs

umm.i like a hippie guy and I still shave my legs, and I'm a hippie girl. I think not shaving your legs wouldn't matter that much if you wore pants tho. So.maybe you only NEED to do it in the summer?
You don't HAVE to , but it's kind of like second nature for girls to I think. I hate doing it, I don;tin the winer because I wear pants. But I do it because it gives me more confidence, I can't say why though.

Girls need to shave their body hair. Most guys can get away with being scratchy and hairy because that's many and a lot of women like that. Most men do not want a hairy girlfriend.
I love hairy confident women. If guy comments on you not shaving than ask him why he does have to shave. If hair is gross then it should be just as gross on a guy as it is on a girl.
