5 Favorite Valentines Day Gifts

Hey guys. It's almost that time of year again! Time for an overload of hearts and all things lovey-dovey. I decided to do a Take on what I think are the gifts that you can't go wrong with. Read on!

Flowers

There's nothing like receiving a beautiful bouquet of flowers. There are so many different kinds. It doesn't have to be roses either. Randomly ask your lady what her favorite flowers are and then present her with those on Valentine's Day. It's a good way to show her that you pay attention when she speaks.

Chocolates/Candy

I personally am a chocolate lover, but I know that there are some people out there that aren't big fans of it. Good for them that there are many other kinds!

Stuffed Animals

I think guys underestimate how much a stuffed animal can lift a girls mood. I don't care that I'm almost 30, I will always light up at the sight of stuffed animals. The bigger, the better!

Jewelry

You know what they say about girls and diamonds lol. And no, it doesn't have to be diamonds. There are so many more gems out there that are just as beautiful! I personally enjoy jewelry with my birthstone.

Affection

The least expensive gift and probably the most important. I don't know of any girl that doesn't like being shown affection. And yes, this is something that should be shown everyday in a relationship, but a little extra on Valentine's Day doesn't hurt!

I know this probably comes off as super cheesy. I also know that every girl is different. But overall I feel like these are gifts that most girls can appreciate. Of course they should be tailored to fit each individual girls personality and such, but y'all get the drift! As always, stay classy GaGers. See you guys on the threads! ✌ ❤ 😎

I'm hoping my boyfriend gets me chocolate, plans something special vday night (which we both kinda already assumed), and we eat really good food.

This year we're on budgets (well, I'm making us get on budgets)
So, the entire weekend can cost no more than 50 per person (which is a lot!)

Regarding the flowers you can always make some copper roses if you have the tools and then clear gloss paint them. They'll last a few years this way. Are relatively in expensive. They'll also show quite a bit of affection having been hand made by the lover.

1) Valentines day is a bullshit made up holiday.
2) it is insane to get flowers. They jack up the prices, in some cases, 10x or more from regular levels. Get her flowers the week before, or week after. never on valentines day.
or better yet, agree the whole thing is horseshit and don't do anything.

Nice take :) mostly simple, sweet things. Valentines day doesn't need to be about the money (though if you want, by all means, spend up), it just needs to be about showing your partner how much you appreciate them.

Why do you need to get something out of it? You're showing how much you love your partner. It's not only girls who receive gifts, either. You can give each other something sweet, it's just a reminder of how much you care for your significant other.

@GingerBear Because there is an immense amount of societal pressure bore down upon the male demographic to incentivize him to get things for his partner that somehow signify and align with a culturally validated ideology of "love & affection" - aka, expensive shit.

If buying materialistic indulgences is what it takes to allow you to feel like you are worth something... like a collection of condensed carbon atoms... then you are what's wrong with the celebration.

So, where exactly did I say anything about expensive items? Something simple (ie flowers, chocolate, etc.) is a token to show your SO how you feel. Of course they don't NEED something like that to know that you love them, but it's a nice gesture all the same. One you should enjoy making, because, yknow, you love them...
If you need to 'get something out of it', then you definitely shouldn't be in a relationship anyway. I don't give my boyfriend gifts, or do things for him, to get some sort of reward. I do it because I love him, and I like showing him that. He does the same. And Valentines Day is just an extra special time for us to do those things for each other. If you don't get that, the problem is definitely with you, not the idea of gift-giving on Valentines Day.

Why not? Girls just love that stuff! I sent my ex-girlfriend one small stuffed teddy bear in a coffee mug and she loved it! She still has it and she can always think of me when she has a hot beverage.
