I argued with my boyfriend on his birthday, what do I do? help!

OK so today is my boyfriends birthday. All day everything was going great, better then usual. But just about 2 hours ago we argued and I said some pretty hurtful things that I maybe shouldn't have EVER said. it was about him, and what career path I wish he was taking, but I didn't say it nicely I kind of just put him down and made him feel like sh*t. I know what I did is wrong and now I apologized, and asked him if we can put it past us and celebrate his birthday because I got him a cake and candles, etc. but he said he is not in the mood and went to bed! I feel terrible. I don't know what the hell to do, please help!

this is one hell of a question, had me thinking me about 10 minutes

if I was in your situation I would just leave it until the morning, I know this sounds bad but if you carry on "im sorry" to him where he 'isn't' in the mood he will just get more irate and take it out on you and we DONT want that.

go to bed, put your arm around his waist hug him tight and kiss if shoulder and say "im sorry" then turn over and go to sleep, thins might sound strange but it has worked on me before when I have been in the worst of moods. if he shrugs you off then wait till morning to calmly talk to him.

i dont' know that is pretty sleezy to be totally honest with you. I probably would have dumped you over that one. I just think of all the things I have put up with and done and went through to make a girls birthday special (whether she deserved it at the time or not) and then I think of what I would do if she couldn't keep a lid on her mouth long enough for me to have a decent birthday...yea your @$$ would be grass. just being honest.

You purposely hurt him, on his birthday no less. You don't get to decide when the fight is over. You've said you're sorry; now you have to wait until he forgives you (if he does). You can't speed it up. Give him time.
