Being called 'Cute'..a good thing?

Question

I have been called cute from both girls and guys. I'm about 5'2" and athletic, recently gone blonde.. My little sister says it to joke about my size and when I take on things people think I wouldn't be able to handle, and when girls say it, it generally constitutes as a light compliment. But when a guy says it, does it equal as calling her 'beautiful'? Obviously its not a bad thing, but what would constitute as 'cute' to you? Would you go after a cute girl? Is it someone that constitutes as good to bring home to your mom?..

cute girls often look younger, have a better smile and a youthful, cheery look. sometimes they are less attractive than hot girls, but not always. Often this has more to do with age than attractiveness. its the kind of girls you're happy to see happy and you're sad to see sad. cute girls have one key difference between other attractive girls; their innocence. (or at least they appear innocent) Cute girls are the girls you want to protect from the world, while defiling their innocence completely in the bedroom. Cute attire, I would say, are those tight spandex gym shorts, long socks, braces, backwards baseball hats, bright colors. Cute girls usually have a great smile, be it silly, cute, or just downright gorgeous.

Hot girls are just hot. Think playboy-esque, run of the mill hot girls. You can still find insanely hot ones, but there's nothing especially innocent or exotic about them, they just look damn good in a bikini and they're good for f***ing. They come in any range of personalities and don't especially have a "type". Hot attire: bikinis, lingerie, cocktail dresses, heels, etc. Hot girls are more womanly, so there's more and more of them and less cute girls as you get older.

Gorgeous girls have something special about them.There's just a quality about them that sets them apart from the rest of hot girls. Gorgeous girls can be cute, or hot, or sexy, or some combination of the 3. Often the word is used to describe just a higher caliber of woman, but it can also mean the right kind of smile, really sparkly blue eyes, a super fit muscular physique, anything that sets them apart from the rest in a noticeable way. Gorgeous girls you always notice. Hot girls you notice sometimes. A gorgeous girl can be hot, but not all hot girls are gorgeous.

Sexy girls have a quality about them that just oozes sex. Hence the world. I find super exotic brazilian women and italian girls sexy. Bronzed skin is oh so sexy. Muscular asses or plushy squeezable asses are often found on sexy girls. Contrary to popular belief, sexy girls are NOT only used for sex. They are actually the easiest girls to fall in love with, because they tend to lack the immaturity of cute girls (youthfulness can be attractive, but also make us take you less seriously), the plainness of hot girls, or the intimidating factor of gorgeous girls.There's something about their sexual expressiveness that sets a man at ease to just enjoy them, whereas gorgeous girls tend to make you wonder if you're worth enough to have sex with them.

Most guys don't feel comfortable calling a girl beautiful, sexy, or hot, because some women are offended by these words. These women claim it is objectifying, and do their best to make us guys feel like perverts. As a result one of the few safe words that men can use to complement a girl is cute. I have heard a lot of women complain they never get called anything but cute, even though they want to be called sexy, and hot. So it sounds like those other women, are ruining it for the rest of you girls.

Does cute mean the same thing as pretty? There are a lot of different types of pretty, and cute is just one type of pretty, but most guys substitute the word cute to mean all types of pretty. Most guys will only use the word cute, to describe girls. Guys don't normally use the word cute, for anything except, for pretty girls. It just isn't manly for a guy to see a plush toy and say that it is cute.

A guy calling a girl cute, is almost always never a joke. It sounds more like your sister is jealous of the attention you get, and has convened herself that it is a joke, because the truth is too hard for her to accept.

A cute girl is the best kind of pretty, to bring home to mom.

Cute is a word of endearment I use to mean the girl is attractive but in a good, puppy love, type way, as opposed to a p*rn star type of way.

Basically when I use the word cute, it means she's attractive, but at the same time, has an innocence about her.

Sometimes its simply just a random word I'll pick up out the air to say a girl attractive. I've been talking to my guy friends and described a girl as saying "dude she is cute as f***". Really just an eloquent way of saying "she's really attractive".

I find that women are attractive in three broad ways. pretty, sexy, cute. Hot by the way implies a combination of pretty and sexy to me. Of course all girl are a unique mix of the three. To me cute implies that there is something defining about your appearance; thick lips, big eyes, small nose. Something like that. Also with cute as opposed to the other two, it is more in the eyes of the beholder. When a girl is pretty or sexy it is basically universally accepted, but when a guy thinks you are cute it means (to me) that he likes your uniqueness. I would rather date a girl that I thought was cute than pretty or sexy, I still can't stop thinking about the last girl that I found to be really cute and I see pretty and sexy girls everyday.

It depends on the persons own personal language, it is also an affectionate term that none of the others carry and suggests intimacy and closeness, I wouldn't be seeing it as part of a rating system, If your cute then that is gift that can allow you to be all things to all people :)

And remember beauty is only skin deep...

Cute means "pretty/beautiful, BUT WITH AN ADDED ELEMENT OF _INNOCENCE_." In general, it's a good thing; most guys like a girl who seems a bit innocent, at least in public (it's okay to be less innocent, even MUCH less, when alone with him in the bedroom).

The only time "cute" would be a bad thing is if you are TRYING to be overtly sexual, because it means that, while you are still attractive, you are failing to be sexual/slutty despite trying to be.

It really depends on the guy. Focus on his tone of voice. If it sounds sarcastic or like he's talking to a pet (no offense to you of course), he might be calling you cute in respect to your height. I call my girlfriend cute all the time, just because "hot" and "sexy" are somewhat insulting to her and when I say cute she knows I am talking about her looks and personality.

Cute usuall last a lot longer than being hot or sexy those fade with age much faster than being cute. Sexy can also depend largely on dress and hair other things that can be a style or something made up o rput on.

To me cute includes not only looks but personality and also lends an air of accessibility, while beauty speaks to something much more physical and ephemeral.  I might lust after beauty, but I will fall in love with cute.
