I buy gifts for my boyfriend a lot and usually expensive ones. He got me nothing for Christmas?

I bought him $300 worth of gifts for Christmas and for his Birthday this year I got him $250 gift.

Throughout the year I get him random gifts not cheaps ones.

For my birthday he got me 3 gifts which was around $140.

He is not super poor he is average.

He said he was saving money so he didn't get me anything for Christmas even though he got his friend a super cheap gift. And he was serious this is not one of those surprise present things.

Am I wrong for getting kind of hurt? I am not asking for gifts I just wanted the thought and that is why a card would have been enough but with him there seemed like there wasn't even a thought.

Am I wrong or normal? :P

well the holiday season isn't over so give him a chance, maybe he's planning something. maybe you should try giving him different types of gifts to see how he reacts to them, more sentimental gifts as opposed to things with a high price tag. I love trying to give my girlfriend things but I'm hardly in the financial position to do so. I would spoil her if I could. I hate the holiday season because she always gives these extravagant gifts while mine are less so. She always tells me how much she loves them, I just wish I could do more

You might express affection by giving gifts and buying things for him.

He MAY express affection by doing something nice for you or something.

Not all gifts cost money.

I don't know the entire situation, so I can't say for certain, but just because there wasn't money flowing doesn't mean he doesn't care.

youre suppose to give without expectation. when it comes to the birthday gift you can't expect him to spend $250 just because you spent it. $140 is more than enough. I would be pissed about the chirstmas thing though. I would raise hell lol especailly since he got his friend a gift. no excuse for not getting you a gift. if I were you id take his present back and get him a smaller gift

Am I the only one here that thinks, "who cares?" It's not a competition for pete's sake. It's a relationship. What does it matter that you spent $100 more than him on his birthday than he did on yours. If you're not happy with it being uneven, don't buy him so much. Besides, Christmas is still a week away. Calm down lol

I am sorry I know I don't have any right to say this but I really want to..a guy who doesn't have enough money or time to even make you a simple card or apologize at least for not getting you a gift doesn't deserve a sweet girl like you who showers him with such expensive gifts ofcourse because you love him.I know gifts don't gauge the amout of love you have for someone but still do you think its fair that you keep on showering him with expensive gifts and he can't even get you a gift for Christmas?
