What Guys Said 31

  • You must be American for I know few of these artists

Being an outsider I would add Joe Strummer, Michael Hutchence, Bon Scott, Chrissy Amphlett and Doc Neeson to the list

  • Very surprised you didn't list the 27 Club. Many young musicians who are already caught up in drugs are afraid of dying at that age.

And never ever forget Jeff Buckley.

  • No Buddy Holly, No Patsy Cline, No Eddie Cochran , No Hank Williams or Johnny Horton? The 50's and 60's were filled with tragic singing deaths including those and Otis Redding and Sam Cooke.

  • some listed were kind of past their prime (elvis, whitney, MJ). this isn't to say that their passing isn't sad or they were too young but I guess in terms of musicians I think of where they were in their career and how much they had to offer

so alliyah is a great example as well as Pac, Biggie and Amy Winehouse. I also think of people like Janis Joplin, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Duane Allman, etc. All were in their mid 20s (except Lennon) and all seemed to have a ton they could have contributed to musically

    • Yes, I consider anything under 50 young in terms of death.
      young is subjective

    • well they're all young for sure. and that's what I was saying that they are all too young to die. So when I think of artist who died to you I think of where they were in their careers so I guess I kind of think of the question as "who died too young in their career"

but it is all personal opinion of course

    • Yes you're right. I agree

  • Most of those people were self absorbed and dies from drug overdoes they deserved what they got.

    • Yeah so let the government pay for it our taxes that we work for shouldn't @falling4utc

    • The government only gets money from a) taxes and b) companies it supports. I'm betting the majority of the governments income is from taxes.

  • Honorable mention to Big L! 8-)

  • Don't forget Dimebag Darrell and John Lennon. Both shot by schizophrenic fans. Dime bags fan thought Pantera stole his music and John Lennon's fan thought he was John Lennon.

    • No I didn't forget. I simply cannot list everyone.
      Lets be realistic

    • Why? Because that's literally hundreds of people.
Maybe I'll make a sequel to this with some popular mentions from this post.

  • What about Jimi Hendrix?

    • Well she's still a person

    • It's not about who is "more" important. Just because someone is better known doesn't mean their death is worth caring about.
anyone and everyone should be remembered no matter what status

  • How about Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Hendricks, Jim Croce, Kurt Cobain, Patsy Cline, Jim Reeves, and John Denver to name just a few.

    • The young selena is what I got with Google search. Whether it's her or not is the least of my concern (cant edit this). I just wanted to make a positive my take with inspirational quotes so my true task was accomplished.
But I'll definitely look into that photo a bit more to see if that's true... thanks ! :)

  • Omg. I knew all of those people. Amy Winehouse was so pretty as well as the other women up there. I never listened to her, but I just didn't understand why she and Whitney were so self-destructive.
