Things I Experienced in San Francisco.

Things I Experienced in San Francisco.

I was just recently in San Francisco, CA for the Thanksgiving holiday and I thought it would be a cool thing to share what I experienced there and how it felt for a suburbs girl to be in a big city. I mean, it's not like I get to see I guy in a wheelchair with color changing speakers attached to the back of his wheelchair blasting rap music, we don't really get that in the suburbs lol. That's just one thing I saw among many. Which, is why I wanted to share it with everyone.

Here we go:

Homeless People Really do Exist

Things I Experienced in San Francisco.

I know there's homeless people out there but living in the suburbs, I don't really experience it. The most I've ever seen is someone standing in the middle of the median holding a sign and they don't look homeless. Being in San Francisco though, I did see actual homeless people sleeping on benches, sleeping on the side walk and talking to themselves. It was odd to see and freaked me out a bit. Not something I'm use to.

Families, Couples and Dogs OH MY!

I never imagined I'd see so many families there but there were a lot of little tikes running around. Also, tons of couples. When you see one couple kiss on the street you think "aw, that's sweet". After you see like ten more it starts to become annoying and border on show offish. There were also tons of dogs, all different kinds and all very cute.

Gays and Lesbians Up Close and Being Personal

I don't judge people and believe that you love who you love and that's okay. However, I've never seen a gay or lesbian couple in person. On tv, yes but not in day to day life. That all changed for me though taking the ferry back from Sausalito to San Francisco. There was a gay couple in front of me and a lesbian couple to the right side of me, both were quite affection with each other. Being as I'm not use to seeing that, it was a little weird.

Different Ethnic Cultures without Leaving the U.S.

Things I Experienced in San Francisco.

I never would have imagined going San Francisco I'd experience so many different cultures, without having to leave the U.S. They were a lot of Asians, people from India, French people and many other cultures. It was quite cool. Not something I get a lot of here in the Midwest.

Hills, Not so Alive with the Sound of Music

I think Julie Andrews lied to everybody when she said "the hills are alive with the sound of music", the hills in San Francisco certainly weren't lol. I never walked that much in my life and especially, up and down hills like that. I give props to the people that live there, I know I couldn't do that everyday of the week for the rest of my life. My muscles were sore from just four days of it lol, couldn't handle more then that. I like my pavement flat lol.

Ritz Carlton Really is Putting on the Ritz

Things I Experienced in San Francisco.

This was my first time staying in a hotel and this was a good place to be for a first hotel stay. Very nice place and everyone that worked there was super nice and very helpful, which isn't something I'm use to. Needless to say it was a nice stay and liked it. Ritz Carlton certainly lives up to it's name.

I Saw the Nightlife but Didn't want to Boogie

Things I Experienced in San Francisco.

I never go out at night, like ever. There's never really any reason to and I'm more of a morning person than night person but being in San Francisco with my cousin, we did go out at night and it was different lol. It was very beautiful with all the city lights lit up and all the Chrismas decorations. However, the people kind of freaked me out. There were many different types of people out at night on the streets of San Francisco and a lot of them, I'm a guard up kind of person. So, I felt a little uneasy at times. I'm glad I finally got to experience a city at night, at least for the arcitecutural beauty.

Cheap Cologue and Perfume Discount Somewhere

It's not often you run into many people in the same day wearing the same cologue or perfume that you can't stand the smell of, apparently in San Francisco you can lol. Every dude and chick I walked by had on the same cologue and perfume, which was very powerful and not recommened as a fragence of choice. I feel like they were having a cheap cologue/perfume discount sale somewhere. It was odd.

Lots of Beautiful Wonders in San Francisco

Things I Experienced in San Francisco.

The best part of the trip was all the beautiful things I got to see and do. Like seeing the Golden Gate Bridge in person and walking across the entire thing. Going to Chinatown and having Chinese food for the first time. Taking a ferry for the first time and seeing all the beautiful lights at night. Being in Sausalito and experiencing all their cool shops. Going to Pier 39 and seeing the sea lions. Seeing Lombard street, taking a Victorian home walk and seeing what Alcatraz looks like in person. Going to the Asian Art Muesem. I saw and did a lot of cool things.

As my dad so nicely put it "I went, I saw and I'm glad to be home", that sums it up perfectly.
