Embrace the unexpected

I'm in a new year. Just yesterday I found this magical place on the internet where you get to share your mind with the entire world. Where you ask and actually get some good answers and meet others that connect with you. It's amazing. Thank you all. I want to give back and to pay it forward to the GAG community.

I've learned some things throughout my life that I think some people here might find useful and therefore this will be the first of a series of mytakes about life and people's minds.

Embrace the unexpected

Embrace the unexpected.
Why don't we approach life with more curiosity and tolerance for the unexpected? So many people are stressed out trying to plan their day down to the last minute, trying to squeeze the last bit of productivity and efficiency out of it.

It's just so uninteresting and devoid of surprise. Why is it that most people think that they cannot allow themselves to make mistakes? The desire for efficiency and conformity kills all the creativity and curiosity. It starts off by the society, by our parents and ultimately by ourselves. People start to feel bored and disengaged, hopeless and helpless.

You should not let that happen to yourself. Remind yourself that today is a great day to make a mistake. Embrace it. That's where the learning is. You need to prioritise learning over performance. Until you close your mind to those meaningless external measures of success and focus on what naturally peaks your interest and excitement, you prevent yourself from having those eureka moments and being truly happy.

I can't promise great success but I promise you will have a great life =)
