You Can Never Understand How Quickly Things Change

Before I get into this story, just know this is not related to sexual behavior, it will not let me change it.

Disclaimer: This is all based on a true story.

When you see a smile, do you think it is real? Do you think the person is happy, and that the person has been through nothing?

A smile can mean many things, but in this case, it meant everything.

He was a young boy when his dad left, he got raped, beat, bullied, and hurt. Not knowing what was going on, he went about his life. Years pass, and his mom goes for a walk dropping him off at the grandparents. He waited days for her to come back. Years pass, and he realizes she was never coming back. He moved after 4th grade, and his mom came with, excited, he wanted to hang out with her.

He didn't know the mom was doing drugs, and he would not care, he was just happy to know she was still around. He had a tough time adapting to new kids, they threw out mean words, and it was all due to him being different. Thinking people who were laughing with him, he kept up his humor never knowing they were laughing at him.

His brother was the popular one. A Jock, a hothead. Seen everything he has seen. By the time he reached Freshman year, he was under the impression that glasses were uncool due to the bullying, so he took them off. He had a passion for gaming, and for music, but the bullying took away his gaming. During Junior year, he felt he had met the love of his life not knowing she would leave him exactly 3 months later. He was devastated. He shut everyone out, and broke down crying to the point the school said the one word.... Therapy.

He felt like he was cool being as he was upgrading from counseling. His life seemed worthless. He stayed in his room, cussing everyone out, and not eating. He claimed they were wrong, he can make music and gain the fame, and popularity he always wanted.

He was a broken boy, by the time it reached his Senior year, he had the cops called on him as a joke claiming he was going to kill himself. He had an overdose of his seizure medication, and since he has not been able to think clearly, or speak fluently.

He stood in front of his Senior class, and told his life story.

He told them how he was beat at a young age, raped as a kid, he told them how his dad left, and how he got bullied to a pulp. He opened up completely, realizing they would not speak to him after the school year. The bullying left him mentally paralyzed. He felt he couldn't look cool with glasses, he felt that nobody cared, and not once was he given a compliment. How can he take a compliment? He was petrified for the adult world.

He rebelled against his grandparents, when he was at the age of 18 due to them keeping him inside the house for days on end. He didn't know right from wrong. He didn't know how to make friends, or even how to speak to a stranger still afraid they will backlash.

His goal in his life was to skip college, and make music. He wanted to show the world his thoughts through music. At the age of 19, he went to college, and he met a beautiful young woman. He was afraid to speak, so he messaged her on a social platform. She got back to him, and they've talked everyday. He has never felt so happy in his life.

B y the time summer reached, his Aunt S claimed she got raped her sisters husband. The Aunt S got off with meth, and he kept his head held high because he felt that he had found the one. A while passes, and his girlfriends dog had to be put down due to cancer. She got very distant, less talking. He tried to find ways to be with her, so they can be happy, and they did have their ups and downs. Not once did they ever fight.

A month ago this boy mentioned something he shouldn't have.... A Promise ring. He didn't see her for 3 weeks, barely got a call. He stopped getting good morning texts, and goodnight texts. She didn't tell him she loved him. 2 days ago, they split. He saw it coming, being as he was never able to hold a relationship, but what got him is that was they day they first met. His mind went spiraling.

Today, he is still broken and left alone. No word back, and he still is unsure why they split. He claims it is because she has not gotten over her dogs death which has been months ago. His smile was ripped, his humor has depleted, but he kept a smile on his face.

This was the longest relationship he has been in, and even the happiest he has ever felt, but due to a simple text it ended. Everyday during the relationship, there were good morning, and goodnight texts. To this day, he wakes with no friends to talk to. He is ignored, and left behind to rot. He holds a smile on his face, because it may get better. You can never understand how quickly things change.

This boy is 20 now, and though he has a dysfunctional family, it is all he has left, and even after all that time of his horrible life, he has to change his ways with his family.

Nobody can understand how quickly things change... Moral of this story, is to love what you have, while you have it, because you never know when it will be gone.
