  • Pretty Woman is fave of mines. I heard it for the first time in Sunny in Philadelphia.

I will however have to correct the statement of him "being the father of rock n roll".

Rock n roll began as a combination of AA jazz, blues, etc mixed with western country sounds. The genre didn't officially get its name until 1950. First rock n roll song was by Ike Turner, it was called "Rocket 88". It came out in 1951.

In 1951, Orbison was 15. He didn't start producing music until '57.

So chronologically & technically speaking, he's not the father of the rock. He's a definite pioneer, but not the father.
