Middle Eastern people, are you used to loud noises in your country?

Here where I live, the Middle Eastern people seem to do everything loudly. They talk to each other loudly, talk on the phone loudly, always slam the doors, play their music in public loudly.

As someone who hates loud noises, this bothers me a lot. I very often get annoyed by this kind of behavior. To the point where I can't fall asleep because my heart is pounding and I am bubbling with anger after my middle eastern neighbors slam their doors in the middle of the night. In the narrow hallway, the echo makes it sound like an explosion. I will talk to them about that. That is just unacceptable.

But, if I can understand why someone does something, I might be able to tolerate it a little bit.

That's why I want to know whether people do everything loudly in the Middle Eastern countries. Are you used to loud noises? Because that would be the only acceptable explanation. I can't think of any other explanation and I refuse to believe that all Middle Easterners have bad manners. I don't think so and I think it's not fair for me to think so.

Hmmmmm actually i don't know. I've grown up in a middle eastern household but i didn't notice anyone being constantly loud but then again that's just how i grew up. So perhaps to an outsider what we do is loud, but to me it's just everyday normal.
Personally, I don't think we are any louder than a lot of American families here.

I think its something they are used to and i think its in our culture... but for example, in Egypt, its always noisy almost 24 hours a day with the cars honking and all the people yelling and all that... it could just be a normal thing that people grew up in...

oh god, no wonder... that would be horrible for me. I would definitely go nuts and start bombing the entire city just to get some peace and quiet lol

It should be related with Mediterranean thing. They are hot blooded people. Don't expect calm attitude as someone living in Iceland. XD

Weather has big impact on people. It changes our attitude. Think about American people. They are living in the same country, but each state has different kind of people.

well America is more multicultural, so it's understandable that it's more colorful.

Yes I agree about the hot bloodedness. They're a collectivistic community. They like to talk and socialize, more than the west europeans, for example.

But still, doesn't the noise level bother them? Doesn't the door slamming burst their own ears?

It doesn't bother them. I have many friends from Middle East. They get used to that much noise. It is normal for them. More than that, if the noise level is very low, they might find very weird as if someone died or something.

I am a Middle Eastern and I find what you said very noisy and it got me really pissed just imagining ur feeling. But anyway, I think if u just talk to them it will change

I used to live in Iran and people act very polite and are not loud and very high class.

I noticed that when I was there. Big doors with no bumpers, marble floors and walls, no rugs. Put it all together and those doors could sound like a bass drum. Between that and the things exploding it did get loud.

you know i remember a guy with British accent in bar, that almost was yelling when he was talking, and when he started to talk i thought that there was a fight in bar, so i can not say all British are noisy ! maybe your neighbors are noisy, so you can not generalize this to like 1 billion people!!

I live in a middle-eastern country and no, I actually hate loud noises. It must be your neighbours who are weird.

are you middle eastern as well? It's not just my neighbors, middle eastern people on the streets are pretty much the same too.

Any body can be loud. The fact that some middle easterns are loud doesn't mean they all are. Although I can't speak For the entire middle east. But I live in Iran and in a 5 story apartment and have never noticed people shouting in corridors or banging the doors etc.
