What does the name Queenstar mean?

My name is Queenstar but I don't know the meaning of my name. Well people on the internet might not like my name but people around me always compliment me on my name. They say my name is different and uncommon. I checked the baby names website and they don't have my name listed there.

Well according to Google there are at least two of you out there, but yeah this one is pretty unique.

I was tempted to say the meaning is pretty simple, just "Queen" and "Star" portmanteau'ed together. But it kind of depends on what your namer was thinking when they gave it to you. Which "Queen"? Are they saying that you are a Queen, or is there a Queen they had in mind? The Queen of Heaven perhaps? That would make sense given the "Star" part. To the Catholic church the Queen of Heaven is Mary, Mother of God. In that case, "Queenstar" just means "Mary" or "Miriam" where that comes from. "Miriam" in turn has a complex and uncertain meaning. "Miriam" is said to mean "sea of bitterness" or "wished-for child" or even "rebellion".

Or maybe there's another queen they had in mind? Maybe one from history or from your ethnic background? Or maybe there's a connection to Queens in New York City?

And which Star? Were they saying you are the star? The bright light in the darkness? Or a stage diva in the making? ("Diva" also means "star".) Or is there a particular star they had in mind? The North Star, constant and true perhaps?

I'm also wondering if it could be a play on the name "Ishtar" which is in ancient Babylonian mythology the goddess of fertility, sex, love, and war. That's about as big a mixed message as "Miriam". Ishtar is feature in a bunch of movies and books and even video games, so it's not completely impossible that it was in their minds. Ishtar is in one tradition the "Queen of Night", which again fits both "Queen" and "Star". Are you African American? That would make sense.

Maybe it's a mix of a lot of these or other things. I think the key thing to note here is that your name even though it's just two simple words has a lot of potential meaning and it's really in the eye of whoever named you to decide what it was supposed to mean for you. And more importantly, it's up to you to decide what it means for you!

Queenstar means Queen of heaven, the ocean star, Star of the sea and queen among the twinkling stars. Hope tht helped =)
