Long and thin, methinks. The thinner the blade, the sharper it is. And the longer it is, the further you can reach into the material with it. Just an educated guess.

Kinda depents on the surface you need to cut i guess.
Sounds like you're cutting laminates... Get a simple utility knife, same thing flooring layers use.

Sharpest knife? What about scalpel/lancet? But be careful that can really cut you open.

Damn, I thought it was a suicidal post and I was about to say "Beyblades", now I am left clueless.
Skinning knives like Bowie knives that cut through thick hide would be a good place to start.
