Guys do you hate being pampered by a girl?

i mean to cook you, wash your clothes, clean your house, and generally view you as a "king"

Personally i HATE it very much because it reminds me of being some sultan in a middle-eastern country, and the girl being my slave which is something i despise very much.

And besides that i'd feel useless... i can do housework by my own, i don't need a girl to do. Like some men who are unable to, and they depend on women for those kind of stuff.

I like to do things around the house, but I don't like doing everything.
I think it's only fair you take on your share of work (in a couple) depending how much one works. So, the past couple months I've only been working 1 day a week officially, and he works full time. So, I did most of the jobs, I left one or two for him considering it was his place and he didn't want me doing everything.

However, I'm about to go back to working 3 jobs again, so he'll take on more of the chores.

I don't see it as pampering, I see it as equal split of work depending on commitments. Although I do like to do the cooking; he's allowed to when I'm ill or done my shift in a kitchen I work in. Last thing I want to do is cook when I've been cooking for 9 hours straight.

My mother has been feeding me this bullcrap for years, that the only way to keep a man around is to serve him like a bloody housekeeper. And that the only way for a WOMAN to feel happy is to keep her man's balls empty and his belly full.

Now if you're being honest, seems like there's some hope for me, after all...

I think it's an age and generational thing. Since the mid 20th century society has generally slowly moved away from the super-traditional male and female gender roles, so today's young people will be another step away from the notion that men=work, women=cook, clean.

At the same time, age is a factor as well. I think there are a lot of young guys who don't have these expectations. As they age though, some will develop these expectations through cultural socialization.

Generally though, I think there are a lot of guys around who aren't into the "king of the castle" mindset. It's just a matter of meeting the right types—modern, not overly masculine, open-minded, independent.

my opinion is... both cooks their own food, and both wash their own dishes. simple ;-)

why is it strange? what does it mean that the guy must sit still and let the girl cook? he must move his ass and fix his own food if he wanna eat

I've never dated a woman that could cook better than me... It's nice not having to cook all the time, but eating sub par food in exchange for being lazy just makes life mediocre. Anyone can wash clothes. It only takes a minute to start a load so it's not a huge burden for whoever's shoulders it falls on. If she wants to wash my clothes that's cool. I do appreciate when women iron my dress shirts though. That's always been a pain in the ass for me, so when they do that for me I like it. In contrast I hate when they wear my dress shirts and leave me with nothing to wear. That's aggravating... Help with cleaning around the house is always appreciated. I just don't like when they move my stuff or think it would be neat to redecorate. I know they want it to feel like their space, but my place is my place...

Yeah, I don't like having people do things for me. This is especially true if it reinforces traditional gender roles because I am very much anti-tradition in that regard.

I absolutely love the idea of my partner cooking for me, I can't lie and say that the thought's not incredibly attractive to me. That said, I'd be cooking for her just as much as she would for me, so it's not like I'm looking to be babied and coddled. When you're in a relationship though, it's nice to do things for one another. You do it because you want to, because you love them.

The only area that she probably wouldn't want me touching her STUFF and helping out would be her laundry. I don't follow labels or instructions, and I generally suck at it. I've got a boatload of pink undershirts to prove it too (who knew you weren't supposed to wash brand new red towels with white shirts?). LOL

I would rather have a good women cook for me by the time I get home from my construction job, workout at the gym and go to the store and buy the food the last thing I want to do is be a chef in the kitchen for the next 2 hours and eat it all by myself alone.

i have french fries for meal for example. it takes only about 2-3 mins to heat up the oil and 5-6 mins to have your fries made. they're pre-cooked btw, so i don't have to peel them, etc
