Or maybe being good drawing is just a genetic thing, you're born with the skill? Like singing?
Being a good drawer a genetic thing?

I draw and people said I'm good at it, I've been drawing since I was a kid up until now (I even still remember my first sketch lol). I'm not sure if it's a genetic thing since I'm sure I didn't inherit this from my parents since no one in my family can draw really well.
I believe everyone can draw but like any other talent or skills, some people are just better naturally. Remember the main trait of a person that is good at drawing is they have good perception of reality and imagination than people who aren't. By that I mean artist are able to observe and draw them realistically accordingly to reality. They are able to recreate the depth and shadow etc.
Anyway if you really want to get good at drawing, the key thing is to just practice a lot, practice your observational skills and practice drawing 3D shapes and putting shades (shadows) on it, even if it's just basic. Put some time into it (same way as me practicing through out the years in my life). Also for me, the best way to draw is ''if I feel like it'' and drawing would be easier. That's usually when I'm bored in class or in general as that's where my imagination tends to come strongest the most and also when I see something I really like and most importantly enjot it.
You know what I do now?
I take really artistic drawing that I find on the internet, i print them and put a transparent paper on it and re-draw them, once I finished, I TRY MY BEST to draw them without the transparent paper
honestly I enjoy it so much, i think i found my passion im just sad that is up until now that i eventually figured out but then again ill try to improve and practice even more
That's good way to learn. Just keep practicing and one day you'll just realize you're just better at drawing than before, it's good you enjoy it and you put passion in it. BTW, what do you like drawing?
I love everything grunge, lonely, depressive and expressive at the same time also creepy stuff

Cool, I have similar landscape drawing like that drawing you want to draw. If you want to draw as dark as something like that, don't use pencil. Use pastel or something similar.
okay thank you
Yes , there's talent , and there's skills.
With practice , you're gonna improve your skills so you can utilize your inner talent , unlock unknown potentials and be the BEST that you can be.
Though genetics is in play , you can still be the best you can be , don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
THANK YOU
I LOVE POSITIVE PEOPLE LIKE YOU
GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL
lol , I think myself more as a optimist realist
I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter.
-Walt Disney
I love that quote , it'll get you places.
Totally.
I don't know why but I find it cute how a dude uses a Walt Disney quote lol.
maybe you have a thing for dreamers lol
oh yeaaah
@Roarke Thank you so much i'll try my best though
I wish I could be a good drawer, but since I didn't have the genes from my drawer parents, I guess I'd just have to be happy with being a good shelf...
It's just like any talent. It either runs in your family or it doesn't. But even if it doesn't, you can still be good at something. You'll just need to work harder than those with talent.
Of course it isn't. Like almost every skill drawing requires practice to be good at it. If you keep trying you will become an amazing drawers! Just keep practicing.

It's possible, but if so, genes would play an extremely minuscule role- such as in cases where fine motor coordination or neuromuscular development are severely impaired. It's almost exclusively environmental , grounded in interests that a child is exposed to, social or familial influences and practice (particularly during early stages of child development).
well well well
i just turned 18 and now ONLY now that i decided i wanted to draw so
I wans't very interested in drawings to be honest, I rarely draw when I was a kid..
I think you're a smart kid lol I mean you express ideas really intellectually, keep up the good work in this site
Thanks. I try my best. There are numerous possible factors and I may not have managed to touch on the right one (s). Epigenetics (the study of non-genetic influences on gene expression) is one of the least understood areas of medicine and many areas of biochemical and evolutionary sciences. Maybe in our lifetime, a definitive answer to your question will come.
hopefully but for now i'll try to ameliorate my skill for better results, with efforts i think it could be possible
To a certain extent yes. But everyone has their unique style in art. However if you are simply talking about drawing like a plant or something arbitrary practice can help improve art skills. Moreover most artist are adept at spacial reasoning and very good at visualizing concepts and this is more genetic than anything.
that's bullshit i don't believe in genetics
My mom has it, I don't, nor does my dad
