The problem with asking whether or not it would really matter or not in the end is a bit contradictory if I one was to say that they are 'interested' in the person in the first place. It is a bit contradictory because I would think that surely the height problem would have came up already during the phase where you were deciding whether or not you even 'like' them overall. If he is making comments about it then I would argue that he is still in the phase of "I am not sure whether I actually want to date you or not".
I don't care for height difference. She can be 3ft tall or 8ft tall for all I care. I look at personality for a potential significant other as to how they look in the sense of height.
I am 6'6" and to be honest... He doesn't care. Tall women are an unusual find and he is used to being around shorter people. So, it is completely normal to him. We are usually a little insecure about our height and we feel better when you let us know you find it very attractive.
Height is one of the things you cannot control so why ever let it bother you? You'd have to be a real asshole to think that this would matter because it sure doesn't. You answered the question yourself within the first sentence. "I like this guy a LOT, and he likes me too." There you go, there's your answer. If you like him, the opinion of others regarding your height shouldn't matter.

My girlfriend is about a foot shorter than me, (shes like 5' 1")
Its not that bad, your a good height for a girl, you'll be tiny compared to him but I don't think people care to much about a girl being significantly shorter then a guy.
I'd just be wondering whether she could blow me standing up.

Height has NOTHING to do with liking someone or actually loving.. These height differences and other types of differences such as rich or poor are man made.. They've less importance so chill and continue liking the guy ;) best of luck!
Who cares? Most girls are around your height so unless he wants to reject every girl who isn't tall he has to widen his pool. Height isn't a big deal.
I can't say I've ever experienced this problem since I'm pretty tall for a girl. But, I don't think it's THAT big of a deal.

Honestly, your height shouldn't matter if he truly likes you. You can't just magically change your height it's who you are. I'm 5'0 exactly and my bf is 6'0. Another guy I used to date was around 6'0 too and I also have a friend who's 5'1 and her husband is 6'0. In high school Ini had a friend who was also 5'1 and her bf of 3 years at the time was around 6'4-ish. Sorry for the long comment, but if he truly likes you your height shouldn't matter.
