Have you ever experienced any natural disasters?

Yes Earthquakes. I'm in California, we don't get as much seismic activity like 10 years ago. It's oddly quiet and its time for the "Big One" to eventually wake up. It's scary, we are in a drought, so we are prone to fires to go hay wire if a huge earthquake hits. Lots of cities and buildings are not built to code especially in the LA and SanFran area. I don't live in those areas, I love in the bowl of the states, central valley. We are more likely to have our valley turned into mush with this large reservoir that is in horrible waiting to break open and pour out tons of water. I can't speak about any other natural disaster. Earthquakes sound, feel and are scary.
Well that sounds freaking terrifying o_o
Hahaha well I lived down South for a good part of my life so I've been through 3 hurricanes and countless tornadoes. I'm always really lucky though. I moved away from the South right before Katrina hit and I moved to my town right after a terrible tornado hit (my mom's in the military so we gotta go where they send her).
This is a tornado damage of the tornado that hit my high school the year before I moved here
Oh and I lived in Biloxi, MS before Katrina hit. I moved in January 2005 Katrina hit in August here's footage of the damage done https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bj6NzoZwYoA my old house was completely destroyed.
I guess we're blessed lol. The military always tells my mom she has to move right before/after something awful happens
Oh! Then there was this tornado that hit an hour away from my house my 10th grade year https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPcUDIXX2G4 I had just bought my prom dress from a David's Bridal there the week before GONE, but once again I was pretty lucky. The tornado skipped right over us which was perfect. Only bad thing is we're on the same power grid as Tuscaloosa so we didn't have power for about 5 days but school wasn't canceled o_0 so... we were just sitting in class doing absolutely nothing; yet when we got.5" of snow a couple of months before school got cancelled for 4 days. I will never understand Southerners
No. I'm glad I haven't experienced any ESPECIALLY this thing:

-When I was younger I had to be evacuated from my home for some time due to a forest fire, fortunately my home didn't get burned down
-apparently my dad says that we have stage 1 earth quakes in the middle of the night all the time
-I went through a psychotic break where I thought the world had collapsed and ended and I spent 3 days in hell.
-I have seen a tornado before and when I used to go mountain biking I was in a few windstorms (don't know if that counts), also typical snowboarding stuff such as heavy fog where you don't know which way is up or down.
That's 3 points of hell right there
Fortunately not, and I hope I never have to! The real stuff, that is. Don't mind simulations.
Agreed, REAL ones stop being interesting and start being terrifying lol

2 fires almost burnt down my home town, one year after another... like burned down to the ground forever and if things aren't burning in this state then there are blizzards that lock you in the house for a few months
Dang o_O
I've experienced smallish earthquakes, but that's about is. I have a legit fear of natural disasters, small earthquakes didn't bother me, but now I'm living on the east coast where there are hurricanes and tornados and I'm so scared of one happening.
Is the area ya live prepared for them? Like taking special precautions and such?
Not that I know of really, apparently their last bad tornado was in the 90s, since they it's just been little ones that haven't done much damage, as for hurricanes, I don't know.
Yes, several hurricanes, two terms under bush and almost two terms under obama.
Lol i chuckled :p
Lol I'm a truther what can I say :D
Hurricane Ike that hit Galveston/Houston. Boarded up windows and hunkered down. Was scaring hearing electric transformers exploding and debris being tossed through the air... The unknown BC I couldn't see outside with the boards on window! 😳
I've experienced an earthquake while visiting my aunt in Los Angeles. I got a little frightened because her expensive base fell and broke as a result of the earthquake. Man! Now that I think of it, that was a pretty awesome base she had damnit.

I went through a tornado when I lived in Georgia and the earthquake a few years ago on the east coast. Woo!
Earthquake, four tornadoes, and three blizzards. Been lost in the woods during a severe thunder and lightning storm, too, if that counts.
I slept through hurricane earl when I was really small.
In April there was a hurricane in Tuscaloosa when I was there.
Earthquakes. But none of them were particularly disastrous.
Cyclones... I would like feel the earth move under my feet oneday.
I'm from Costa Rica. Earthquakes are VERY common.
Does it scare you? O_o
YES! I fucking hate them! Haven't felt one in 4 years since now I live in Florida.
A lot of the earthquakes aren't bad at all, some people think they are fun. It's like an adrenaline rush. But to me they are the worst, I dislike the element of surprise.
If only it didn't also create damage to home and property in the process of this adrenaline rush.
@MrMuffinMan
Well building structure is made accordingly for these events.
Like in the east coast houses are made for resisting hurricane season, and in the Midwest people have basements or other ways to protect themselves from tornados.
Plus not all earthquakes are that destructive.
It all depends on what magnitude they have on the Richter scale, and where the epicenter was located.
Diarrhea count? No?
Well... blizzards and hurricanes then.
I've experienced 2 hurricanes before. I live in Texas.
Did ya find it scary?
If a blizzard is considered a natural disaster yes if not then no.
I did experience a hurricane when I was in Japan. It wasn't that serious though.
Yes. A very powerful typhoon when I was younger. May parents experienced earthquake but I haven't yet.
yeah your haircut lmao
But you can't see my hair o_O
and it... is... glorious!
Got caught in a hurricane
What happened? O_O
A ton of flooding, trees crashing down, cars floating away, a lot of houses got ruined
Only earthquakes and hurricanes
