GUYS: What does it mean if a guy lightly touches my waist? Why would he do this? Any thoughts? Is he just being friendly?

He's a nice person but I don't see him as a "touchy-feely" person. THis isn't the first time this has happened. One time when I was laughing, he did too. It wasn't that long ago. He smiles a lot and stares at me in class. I slightly stumbled when i picked up my heavy backpack off the ground but it wasn't until I had completely righted myself that he lightly touched my waist. It was for maybe 3-4 seconds. He also offered to help me with homework and has invited me over for movies. He's also lightly rubbed my back when I was stressed. Any thoughts on why?

No, I think if he apologized or quickly pulled away it would have been an accident, but you didn't say he did those things, and 3-4 seconds is a pretty long time for a waist touch

Its weird because in class, its almost like he's ignoring me and is friendly, but less, yet he stares. But then outside of class, he is super friendly and nice and smiles a lot. Why is that?

He doesn't want y'all classmates to heckle him about his crush on you. He is way more comfortable showing his affections without an "audience of peers" eyeing him.
