Pole dancing has roots in stripping. That is what the brain associates with pole dancing. I don't believe that guys see it as good exercise, etc. even if they say they do. They see a girl on a pole sexualized. I think that we have become too desensitized to things like this and I think that we should honor our bodies and we should exercise in ways that don't make our bodies seem like sex objects. Ballet is beautiful, gymnastics is exciting; there are many wonderful and healthy ways to do unique things using your body but in my opinion pole dancing should not be one of them. It is the perversion of beauty into lust. It is a twisted attempt to legitimize something degrading. I believe many guys would date a pole dancer but few would marry them. And the ones that would I don't believe respect them in the way that they deserve and the way that God intended.

Well, pole dancing is always associated with strippers, so if you say "I'm a pole dancer" many people will think you're a stripper. That's why it has a "bad" reputation.
I personally don't care if she's a pole dancer, it's just another type of dance, but this one involves a pole.
