Would you rather be street smart or book smart?
Nothing else to add so I'll distract you all with random gifs
This is all dependent on your environment/background IMHO. If you come from the hood/slums you're going to need to be around 90% STREETSMART. Since you're going to either end up dead or miserable all because of someone playing of/taking advantage of your "NAIVETY".
I can't count how many people I've seen get jumped/killed all because of them choosing to wear a *Insert color here* shirt when they shouldn't have. Since it's a well-known fact that *insert hood here* doesn't like it ( Their rival's color).
Now if you're 1 of those people that come from a middle/upper-class family you need to be around 80% BOOK smart. I say that because not only would you be able to keep yourself and your family rich. You'd know how to manage your money on top HAVING THE CONNECTIONS to expand your business even more. Which would equal more cash, right?
Now the last thing that family would want is an IDIOT running their business that has been passed down for generations since would = them being poor/out of business LOL all because of this punk not knowing how to multiply properly ^_^. i1127.photobucket.com/.../...f.com-add-text_15.gif
Since you're either end up dead or *
I'd rather be both if given the choice, as I am actually right now both street and book smart. I suppose if I can only choose one I'd choose book smart, street smarts will keep you safe from thugs and the like. But book smarts will let you carve out a life for yourself, which in the long run will help you out more, besides if your book smart and you do well in school. And get a good job then you can move out of neighborhood or area were you would have to be street smart, thus eliminating the need to be street smart in the first place.
Street smart gets you further. Being book smart is only helpful when you're in school. Even as a student, being book smart is just half the battle, you also have to be motivated and ambitious. I know PLENTY of lazy book smart people. I feel like if I were a little more street smart I could cut corners more and have more connections that ultimately opens more doors for me. The street smart kids may not have been geniuses in college, but they knew the right people to get into jobs/careers and many of them did the minimal to pass courses and barely graduated, but they're making the same salary as people who went to Columbia and Princeton university. Life isn't fair :-( I definitely feel like being street smart is a asset in today's society.
60% book smart.
40% street smart.
though, I usually see people who are book smart as merely having good memorization abilities and being able to recite what they've read. that doesn't mean they actually comprehend it, which is much more important/beneficial.
I'm already book smart and sometimes I wish I was a little more street smart. It helps you a lot more in everyday life.

Oh geez... I don't know. I have more book smarts, so it makes school pretty easy, but I have NO common sense whatsoever. Which leads to a story...
So there is this word, forgot it already, but it basically is a word for when you go somewhere, and once you are there, forget what your original intentions were. I heard this definition, and got angry because I literally thought it meant that that say, someone traveled on a trip to another country, and once they arrived, they had no clue why they went there. I ranted about how dumb the word was before the true meaning actually hit me.
i think if you are street smart you are more likely to survive in the world but i don't think anyone has ever done anything great with having good street smarts but i think having good book smarts is important otherwise we would not have the things we have today like this website for instance but i think the lack of street smarts can be a hazard to your health in some places and situations but some people are better at learning books smarts and some are better at street smarts i feel like i am more street smart and i see things that some people just can't but both can be taught and learned
On average, being a normal book smart tends to be better off than being a normal street smart.
But knowing how to be street smart, and with the right bit of luck, you can get to far places, sometimes more so than being book smart.
I'm a mixture of both. And I think it's better to have both. You have to learn how to adapt in all situations. Having just one well only get you so far. In my opinion anyway.
As you should be 😊
gosh that's hard. LOL that 2nd gif tho.
ok uhm... i think id rather be book smart, but also not completely street... dumb.
yeah that's so me:P
YUSS THANK U!
well serves them right for not letting my play soccer-.-
EXACTLY.
Book smart. Gets you way further than streetsmart including in studies and jobs. You also can learn how to become streetsmart if you're booksmart.
streetsmarts are definitely learned through experience and/or obsevation, and/or partially taught by those in your life who've already been there and dealt with it.. it has very little to do with common sense.
I think common sense also have to do a lot with booksmart. People tend to think booksmart is just when you can remember things, but you also have to be able to give that information from books a good place and know how to bring that information up anytime. Common sense mostly helps with that.
If streetsmart can be learned by experiences than it's easier to become streetsmart than booksmart. If that logical thinking isn't there, than it isn't.
Being handy is also a talent, but can also be learned.
a person who's never out on the streets can not have the common sense to be street smart. yet, they may still have street smarts because they were brought to have them. taught by someone else. that's why it has little to do with it. common sense only pertains to that which is common to you.
What if I learn everything I need to know from books I find on the street?
Foiled again! But yeah this question is a coinflip for me lol.
