So for me "talk, dark and brooding" meant...
Tall = Tall
Dark = Their personality and the way they think
Brooding = Brooding ya know as in sulky, constantly deep in thought etc
Tall, dark and brooding goes back to the bodice ripper novels because of censorship the impression of what happens next had to be given. I will give you two scenes.
"On a windswept cliff, the romantic heroine stared into the dark eyes of the mysterious newcomer, she felt his strong arms draw her into their first kiss..." or
" Norma looked over a Cyrus, the neighbour she always considered a mamas boy hanging out the washing but now she thinks she might have some new feelings for him..."
Which works better in an old romantic novel?
well, people use this to describe me all the time, so when someone says "tall, dark, and brooding" I just assume they mean a "messy brained person who doesn't really talk because they have too many fragmented cynical thoughts churning around in their head to express outloud - also they are about 6ft, which they probably consider average height themselves, but everyone keeps saying that it is tall so they just kind of go with it because it doesn't seem important enough to discuss."
i thought dark meant... dark soul. but apparently it can also mean dark features, like dark eyes or dark hair.
Yeah that's what tripped me up

Dark: Mentally I'll, disturbed, possibly satanic,
