im sorry this is irrelevant but i need help!

a) the average height of sunflowers in a field is 64 inches with a standard deviation of 3.5 inches. describe a normal curve for the distribution, including the values on the horizontal axis at one, two, and three standard deviations from the mean.

b) if there are 3,000 plants in the field, approximately how many will be taller than 71 inches?

  • That's just z-score

    Z=(x-avg)/SD

    Where z is the number of standard devs you're looking for, x is some value z sd's away from the mean, avg is the average, And SD is your standard deviation

    • i got somethhing different then the formula u did for part A. I did average minus (deviation times the amount sd)

      like 64 - 3.5?

      Also you didn't help part b at all. can u actually show me what to do?
