Well, our solar system has a diameter of 1 light-year and our own galaxy one of 100 000 light-years.
Currently, the closest galaxy to the milky way, andromeda, are about 2.5 million light-years appart ; and they won't meet for another FOUR BILLION YEARS.
--> Don't forget there are AT LEAST A HUNDRED BILLION galaxies in the known universe.
So yeah, it's litteraly mind blowing.
