Is it weird that I don't know how to use one and am a little nervous to?
Also, any tips on how to use one? I feel so ridiculous asking this! :/ lol

It's your body. You don't have to do anything to it that you don't want to do. However, if you do plan to swim on your period, the only sanitary option for you is to use a tampon. Instructions can be found on the package, or on the internet (just look up how to use one, some have pictures for more accurate explanations). The only other thing is if you are taking birth control, you can skip the sugar pill and keep taking your birth control to avoid getting your period when you plan on swimming, but if that's not an option, then practice at home first, and perhaps in a public bathroom once so you're not nervous, and enjoy your swim.
I'm just worried it'll hurt. whenever i try, i get the applicator in but then i chicken out to actually do it! haha
I've never used one either, well, technically, I did tried to use one, but it was freaking painful and I'm a person that couldn't stand pain. I wouldn't do any water activities during my period because I don't like using tampons and I don't like going into the water using pad.
Put it in slowly, perhaps use the help of a mirror. And remember to take it out on time to avoid the bacteria/toxic. So sorry if this didn't help.
I recommend the Playtex brand because that's what I use and it's pretty good. Also, depending on how heavy your period is then, make sure you change your tampon at least every 4 hours or so. If you have a heavy period, you might have to do every 2 hours or something like that. There are also sizes of tampons depending on how heavy your flow is. There's nothing to be scared about :)
Not at all! The opportunity to use one has just never presented itself. Many women go their entire lives without using them, but don't be nervous. They're comfortable, and way more secure than pads.
As for how to use one, I'm at a loss of words, but there are videos on YouTube. Good luck!
thank you!
i hope the "how to use it" question wasn't weird. I didn't mean it to sound weird! lol But I'll check out how to videos.
No, it's okay :) Everybody has questions the first time around; it's not quite as simple as a pad.
Nope. I started using tampons at 20. I suggest you read the instructions on the box and follow them :) And one more thing, I don't know if it's just me though. I feel more comfortable with the brand Playtex (gentle glide) it's slimmer than the other one I've tried (I don't know the brand, there's like only 2 brands I've tried XD) and it has a cone shape, as it claims, and it's just easier to remove.
I'm 14 and I use them very often. I actually went swimming with them recently. I would say do not use ones with cardboard applicators, and make sure you have the right size. Put it in at an almost horizontal angle, and make sure that it's in far enough or else you'll feel it. Relax when you take it out.
I'm 19 and I've never used one.
All I know is, you should make sure you take it out on time because I've read about girls who have organ failures/die because of the toxic blood in their body. It's rare - but still something you should be aware of.
Haha I've never used one either, yet I'm younger, but I hear most people don't start using them until they're around your age actually. Sorry I have no tips on how to use them 😁 good luck!
I've never used one either. I'd have to break my hymen if I did. I've tried but it's too damn painful lol
Sit on a toilet, relax and slowly put it in. Just remember to take it out!
Nah, it's not weird. Some say it's best not to use a tampon for various reasons, but I guess you could always ask a friend or something to teach you how to put one on when need be.
My mother told me not to use one cause she says if I use one guys will not know I'm a virgin after I get married.
well I'm not a virgin anyway so thats' ok.
that's*
No it isn't weird. It helps to get a mirror when you put it in for the first few times. You just put it in on a small diagonal, turning it while putting it in helps too.
