Why does the rap industry use the misinterpretation of (rap song) when in fact rapping is actually of a chant not melody as in a song?

Why does the rap industry use the misinterpretation of (rap song) when in fact rapping is actually chanting and not melody and therefor can't really be a song when rap itself it rythem not melody. Now let's see who gets the poll right.

  • Lots of ral songs do have choruses though which often involve a singer so I guess that makes them songs.

    The only thing I have against rap is that it doesn't usually use any actual humans playing instruments so it isn't really all that creative in any way other than vocals
