What was life like in the past for this family? She doesn't look like she was just born yesterday. How far back in the past r u talking? What do you think
They grew up in the late 80's and 90's
Same as today then. You'd have to back to the '60s for back/white blended families to have had any trouble. The "50s for any real trouble, and pre WWII for the most ridiculousness. No ones really given a crap since late '60s except stuck loser that can't keep up and have been/are being left behind. And who's they? I only know of Quincy Jones. Didn't even know he was married... kids.
There'd be many people out to kill Quincy.
@Gojira There are many cases of white men wanting to kill and actually killing black men for being with white women. Read up on Emmett Till. A 14 year old black boy who was killed for supposedly winking at a white women.
Emmett Didn't just wink at her. He said something to her. Being from Chicago where that wasn't a big deal at the time, he wasn't aware of how ass backwards it still was in the south at the time. I mean why as in what was the big deal about white women, even 60 or 100 years ago. I don't get it. Maybe bc I'm white? I mean I get the ridiculous socially constructed myths and the fears behind them towards black men, but what was it that made them feel white women were so special that they would want to kill someone for marrying one (or less)? Maybe that's where the whole brainwashing scheme started, way back when there was a need to prove their theories of superiority and inferiority and pureness and other fear based ridiculousnesses that have culminated over the centuries into today's mass media, imagery manipulated brainwashings? Maybe So yeah they would have had a tougher time, but if they wanted to be together, they would have been. Even at the risk of getting killed.
@Gojira It's called white supremacy, my friend.
Yeah. I get that. I just don't get why. I mean if course I know why, but i still don't get it. Know what I mean?
@Gojira Yeah, I get you lol.
I read in a book that mixed children were seen as a sign of a black man who had something he wasn't supposed to have.
Have an opinion?
They was living the high life cuz Quincy Jones brings in some mad ca$h
I guess her family wouldn't exist since her parents wouldn't be allowed to be together.
There's no such thing as not allowed. Mixed children existed since white people first came to America
It was ridiculously illegal in some states for awhile.
Exactly, that's what I was trying to say. @Gojira
